All About Pocket Knives

I have a Whittler pattern knife with a warnie blade. Today I was working on a carving project and broke the tip off the warnie blade. Was a stupid mistake, just broke the very point off. It is a cheap china made knife, however I use it a lot and like it because of the warnie blade. It still cuts good, just dont have the pointed tip anymore. It was a gift to me from a carving friend of mine. My question is would you have the blade reprofiled or leave it alone? Would it cost more than it is worth? Just need some help here. I really hate that I done this stupid thing. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

hey keith, re-profile it keeping the same shape as the original. a shorter wharnnie is better than a broke tip. do it your self with a good file and vise. postage and cost for someone else would be more than the knife would cost to replace.

I would be willing to pay to have it fixed. I have never done any metal work. I can sharpen some, but do not feel like I can do this. It was a gift and I would like to have it fixed. I agree a shorter blade is better than one with the tip broke off.
