Some like 'em old, and some prefer the newer ones...They're all good; both types are cool, IMO.

Here's another newer version that was modified by Lansky1 for me. Believe it or not, this #77 Yankee Barlow used to have a spear point blade.

Pretty cool Q, Lansky did some magic on that one. Love the way he faded out the long pull as it moves towards the tip. Excellent mod, excellent work. A+

These newer Wharncliffes as well as well the old ones are all nice. But that doesn’t mean the newer ones belong in this forum! Knife Lore is for old traditional knives. The first post in this thread was about an old Wharncliffe and I think it should be pursued along those lines. Read the purpose of Knife Lore and I quote “This forum is dedicated to the discussion and display of old knives. The rich history of all the many companies that made them through the early years will be found here as well as many fine examples of the cutlers art. Share pictures of your old knives and your knowledge here!” Cmon guys please read the Knife Lore mission statement!!

You are 100% correct and it's a concern I've had ever since I realized how the different forums/threads on AAPK were organized. Couple years ago I started a different thread for modern Wharncliffes, but I was a newbie and posted it in the Knives for Sale or Trade forum. As time progressed, it seemed that everyone just kept posting any and all Wharncliffes in this thread so I just followed along. I guess old habits are hard to break and/or people don't pay as much attention to the specific parameters of all the different threads, at least not until now.

Perhaps it's time to start a new thread for modern Wharncliffes; I did not realize it was such a big deal but apparently it is. My apologies.

Please don’t get me wrong! Your modern Wharncliffe knives are beautiful and should be photographed and posted for all to enjoy and see but not in this thread imho. I can’t imagine why a thread on modern Wharncliffe knives would not be well accepted, appreciated and very highly followed in the right place! Just my 2 cents

I totally understand and completely agree. This thread has deviated from its original purpose, and I am one of the primary guilty parties. No offense intended or taken. I'm glad someone finally spoke up. I value proper organization and shall strive to pay more attention to the details that keep AAPK a well-organized site. Makes perfect sense.
