I don't get sick of seeing 72's.
Looks like another good example of a 72.

Shouldn't be difficult Tommy. It's the same knife except for the shield. Unless of course you're one of those people who names your knife and in that case you're right, it's just not Marsha.

Chris, I get 99% of them off eBay (some thanks to good cyber friends on AAPK). I have a couple or three searches saved and there's seldom a day goes by that at least one doesn't pop up.

Picked this up in last couple weeks. This 1st generation 72 was my my first 72 ever. And I had no clue what it was... just liked it a lot and it was reasonably priced in the antique store.

John -- What a great find. Is the condition of the pile side handle as good as the mark side? If as I hypothesize the rise of the spring is an indicator of "snap", that knife's main should have plenty of it. I had never noticed the shield is pinned. Wow. I learn something new almost every day.
Love 'em all but the 1st Gen knives are my favorites.

All blades have lots of snap! The pile side has a crack, but overall... the knife is very solid. Yes I still love it. The pins are all visible on this one which is interesting, just the way it was finished I guess.

Received this Bear (72 clone ) in the mail today. Thanks to Jerry for posting it to me.
The knife is new but is not the quality finish of a Camillus 72.
It another knife to cross off my list.

It's a place holder in the pile, Grant. If you're going to collect 72s & clones or Scout knives, ya gotta have one.

I received a first generation 72 from ebay today.
Strictly a parts knife, but the Rogers' bone handles are good on it.
The secondary blades are all broken and clip is short 1/2" and ground way down.
I will have to add some newer blades to it, put it together and polish it up.
It should look good then!

It's a shame Dale but a new set of blades and those bone handles, it should make anyone proud to own it.

Dale I would like to see a picture when you finish the knife.
I received another of the 72's which were made when the factory was closing or just after ?
I have three now all different. The second one is the only one with 72 on back of the blade.
