Another sure give away is LONG bolsters. English and German did this becuase nickely silver was cheaper to use than bone or ivory. Less handle---- More bolster. Watch and you will see that I am right.

They sure are Bob, the lip hangs over the edge of the knife handle and allows your fingernail to get under there easily. Also, I was surprised to see that the punch blade tang was laminated construction

I am told this is one of the rarer Remington Scouts. It books at $585 mint.
I bought it for the gorgeous handles, (I can’t find a crack or chip in them), and of course for the shield.
I wish there was more of the blades left, but if there was, I wouldn’t have been able to afford it!
Oh yes, I did better than the $75 price tag.

You don’t happen to have an extra blade for that 963 do you.
I got around to looking closer at the pins on mine and there are cracks in the bone at the front pins on both sides. Oh well, they are still beautiful handles!

Here's a nice ole Utica scout that Basser5 was kind enough to give me recently. I love the wide bail, the swedge on the main blade, and that long pull.

Up in the middle of the night and ran onto this on ebay. Went for $22.50. Is this legit? I know I don't get out much but I don't recall seeing this blade combination before. Seller claimed it's a Remington R4243 made in 1994. I thought about bidding on it but don't know enough to keep from getting burned.

It looks legit to me. It matches mine. Great price too. The original from the 1920's would be worth overb $2,000.
