Great color bone on that beast, jerryd. ::tu::
It still confounds me why they chose to include a second clip blade instead of adding a Wharncliffe, though. ::shrug::

For ease of opening that many blades???????? How would you arrange the blades if you replaced the small clip blade with a Wharncliffe so you could get each blade open without cutting yourself to pieces?

Ditch the coping blade and arrange the blades just like Case did on this MOP 8507, I suppose. ::sotb::

However, as you can see, there are still two Clip Blades.
Unless you're displaying it, you'll only need to have one blade open at a time, so cutting yourself wouldn't be a major concern.

I guess I don't really care because the RR is most likely the only one I'll ever have. The Case Beast is way more than I want to spend & one is enough. Thanks for your insight.

Well, you're preaching to the choir, jerryd. Remember, I'm the one who couldn't even stand the width of a three-blade Mini-T, much less a five-blade "Beast". In fact, generally speaking, my preference is for single-blade knives...preferably with a Wharncliffe blade. However, if a knife absolutely has to have more than one blade, it seems a shame if (at least) one of them isn't a Wharncliffe. But that's just me...YMMV.

Only 50 made of this Schatt & Morgan club knife. Although I would prefer no blade etch, I really don't mind the etch on this one too much...the fish is cool! I really like the deep cherry red smooth bone, no shield and threaded bolster; I think it's quite classy. I applaud the Riverland Knife Collectors Club for making this their 2003 club knife. (Anyone know where Riverland is?)

Strangely, the master clip blade has a super strong gator snap but the pen secondary is relatively soft and also has movement in the half-stop position. I tried working it with Quick Release which might have helped a bit, but it's still nothing like the snap on the clip blade.

About 75 miles due north of Tampa, FL. In 2001, they held a show in Dunnellon, FL. Those dates make me wonder if they still exist. I'm just guessing but I'm going with not.

This was MIA for at least a year.

Wife found it today in the bathroom closet ::ds::

Was my EDC for many years.

Had it rehandled in stag about 10 years ago by a guy named Ken Nelson.

He's a black smith/knife maker here in Wisconsin.

He also made this handrail for my back door per my wifes design.

Those dratted thievin' bathroom closets. Glad you found it. That's almost like having a new knife again. Ahhh the endorphins that rush through our bodies when we make a discovery like that.

Never thought about looking for it there!
Almost fell off my chair when the wife said "Oh, I found this today. "

Back in the pocket where it belongs!

Sure it is. Just take a look at that hood. If ever there was a design that was more suitable for splitting the wind, I have yet to see it. ::tease::
