My local knife swappin' friend showed up today with this one in tow. Not necessarily one I would have chosen for myself, but he thought I would like it because it has "07" inside a heart stamped on the bolster. He didn't realize it stood for 2007, the year of manufacture; he thought it was for someone who loved pattern #07! (he's not a "Case guy"

Floyd (dogleg) bombed me with this one today. A commemorative of Case's 100 year anniversary, the handles are made from the flooring of one of the old Case factory buildings. She's a slick motor scooter.

Been wanting a Silver Stardust Kirinite 10207 for quite some time. All the dealers sold out of the one I wanted with a red shield and Case did another run of Silver Stardust 07s but with a black shield, which didn't interest me as much. I finally tracked down a red shield model at Case Knife Outlet (https://www.caseknifeoutlet.com/index.cfm) and jumped right on it. The very next day after I had ordered it a red shield version showed up for auction on eBay. Why does stuff like that always to happen to me?

For reasons which will be explained later, I also recently picked up this Ice Blue 4207 with Ichthus shield (still looking for the companion piece with a "Loaf" shield).

The red shield does stand out nicely in the silver stardust. It looks good. My preference in Case shields is to have the company's name prominent in the shield.
10 seems to have turned into the catch all for plastics that do not have a lower number.

Some of you die-hard, hardcore Mini-T loyalists may recall OCD Monkey's Labor Day riddle from last September which had to do with pattern numbers, specifically Case's handle material numbering system.
(For those of you who do not have an OCD Monkey constantly chattering inside your brain cage, you may wish to revisit my Sept 2, 2019, post to refresh your memory: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=52911&start=540)
At that time, I had collected what I believed to be at least one example from each category of handle material (2-10) used on Case Mini Trappers according to the Case handle material numbering system. The only handle material missing was walnut wood: the handle material Case designates with the number "1". After searching high and low for many years and looking at thousands upon thousands of Mini Trappers, I had never found nor even seen a single 07 with a walnut wood handle. Consequently, I concluded that Case probably never made a walnut wood-handled Mini Trapper, end of story.
I am pleased to report that, while by no means precipitous, that was, nevertheless, an erroneous conclusion on my part. Apparently, in 1995 Case did, in fact, release an 07 with a walnut wood handle to commemorate 100 years of the Mini Trapper pattern.
To the immense satisfaction of OCD Monkey for finally, well and truly completing the handle material number sequence with at least one example from each handle material category (1-10)...
...at long last, I am able to present the "missing link": A Burl Walnut 1207
Here is my collection that includes an example of a Mini Trapper with each type of handle material:
1 - Walnut Wood
Left Column
2 - Slick Black (Smooth Black Delrin)
3 - Yellow Synthetic
4 - Other Colored Smooth Synthetic
5 - Stag
6 - Bone (6 is also used for some jigged synthetic material as well)
Right Column
6.5 - Bone Stag
7 - Wood (except for Walnut)
8 - Mother Of Pearl/Abalone
9 - Corelon
10 - Kirinite (10 is also used as a "catch all" for some other synthetic material as well...as Modern Slip Joints observed earlier)

That burl walnut 1207 was very tastefully done. Case's name inletted into the wood looks great. By any chance were there two for sale?
It does raise the question of when did Case first install a long spey in an 07. Generally speaking, prior to about 1980 the second blade was a pen making roughly 1980 the year Case "invented the Mini-T," or so another member opined. I call 07s with pen blades and your similar Queen made knives jack knives. In my view the blade etch should have been 100 years of the 07 pattern.
I have a smooth burl walnut ?347 SS Stockman that has 2 or 3 letters rather than a 1 for handle material. Unfortunately I forget what the letters are and it's not available to look at. I remember thinking the letters were short for something like special order or experimental. It was the first Case Stockman I'd seen with 3 back springs. I ignorantly thought it was very novel. That's why I bought it. I did not know 6347 Stockmans had had 3 springs for along time. It has a similarly inletted name on its mark side and the on the lid of its walnut box. Unfortunately the name is a lumber company.
Some sadistic meanie is going to whisper into the monkey's ear 1107W.

Not two 07s, but this seller did have other patterns from the same series up for sale. If you hurry, there may be some left. You are absolutely correct and not the first to make this argument. Yes, John, it was very satisfying...for a fleeting moment, anyway. As far as the Monkey is concerned, the collection is never really "complete" per se...there's always at least one more "must have" Mini-T out there just waiting to be discovered and acquired.
