That's a big old knife

Picked up a Samuel Robinson, a while back. It has a pin crack and shows some wear, but then again, it is approx 150 years old.

Four more great knives, Roger! I am partial to the Farmer's Friend etched Bower.

Hibbard and Spencer, no Bartlett. Very well made knife with excellent snap. Probably Sheffield made, doesn’t have city or country on the tang? Haven’t found any information yet on line about them except Bartlett was added in 1855. Thanks for looking.

Great looking old knife, Bill, love the look of the bone. Nice shot looking down at top of knife showing swedge of master.

I have seen differing dates for when Bartlett joined the upper ranks. There is a pretty good account of the history of the company on the "Made in Chicago Museum" website, just scroll down the list of company names and click on it.

Thanks Ike for the comments and help I,will check out that website. I was wondering if it was ivory or bone, but I was kinda leaning towards ivory?

I am definitely no expert on determiining, whether or not, knives have ivory, or bone scales. Maybe someone else will chime in, but you are holding it in your hand and I have only a picture, so lean toward ivory. Either way, I would certainly be happy to display it among my collection.

I have no idea what that means Harold, I thought it was gunk in there.
Did a quick search. I'll clean it up and see if it is a magnifying lens. Thanks Harold
