I had one of those Case pliers knives myself before it ran off to Arizona to live with Johnnierotten. It is an unusual twist on the pattern.

Well, they're not tied at two anymore. In spite of Josh Hamilton's double and then score in the 9th, Detroit still came out on top 7-5.

I kinda have a thing for Craftsman scout and utility knives and I was tickled to get this one...with box and paper.

Cool looking main blade...guess it's what "Lumberjack's" use... ...any idea's on the maker...Camillus, Ulster....?

Nice find,Bob. ......I have been wanting one of those myself.

Sometime within the past four or five months, someone posted information on the era these two part can openers were used in Camillus utility knives. I don't remember who it was or what era they said. Could we get a reprise of that?

My first post to this site. I hope I am doing it right. This Imperial Scout is blue in the front and red in the back. I do not think fading could do this. The knife does not look worked on. I got it for less than $10 on Ebay and it was a ball of rust and corrosion when the mailman brought it. What do you guys think? Is this knife correct? Has anyone seen one like it?

Here is another Imperial. This one was also a ball of rust and corrosion when the mail man brought it. It seems a crime to let these old work horses fall to neglect and abuse. I try to bring them back and let them live clean and oiled.

I like the blue ones and the girls also.

I think you did a whale of a job resurrecting them.

I hear ya. I wouldn't trade my time in for anything and I would do it again in a heartbeat (but I get to be 17 again). The problem was, the military and I were not compatible.

yep- when you are 17 18 years old, you are indestructible. When you get 59, you wish you still were.

Wow - I just finished going through all 59 pages of this thread - breathtaking really. So many great knives shown. So much history!

At the end of the day, my mind went to wondering, why are there so few Scout pattern knives newly manufactured today? The first assumption is that knife makers produce what they think their consumers will buy. I love this pattern. And there's more than a few on this forum that that seem to feel the same way. What happened along the way? Any thoughts?

Here you go Bud. It's more valuable as an Ad knife than a maker but you never know. It was ruffed up pretty good by a rookie with a new buffer. It is stamped BROWN over Shoe company over ST. LOUIS. I have Richard D. White's Advertising cutlery book. In it he shows Buster Brown knives and Brown shoe company knives. He also states they were made by many different makers and leaves the investigation of that up to me. It has great old brown bone knife with a can opener that might help tell who made it. Click on the pic it should magnify it.
