David, you have a fine collection which is beautifully displayed. The interior lighting of the cabinets literally highlights the knives.

No Sir, thank you for your comment, it's an antique Jewelers Cabinet. I refinished it this summer and as a matter of fact I just put the labels in the holders.
Very nice job of refinishing that cabinet!

How about some pics of what is in the glass fronted cabinet, just barely showing to the left of the refinished cabinet?
Not a lot to brag about, but I'm proud of my collection. The first pic shows the cabinet you referred to along with two more. Then pic's of what is inside the cabinet. The tall one in the middle I'm changing the the knives in it right now. The last pic is another cabinet where I keep my oldest and ornate knives displayed.

Wow, David! That is quite a collection, very tastefully displayed, too. Is that your man cave?
Scott - that is a really good photo. The texture of those old logs juxtaposed with the texture of the old wood handle and old blade is just about perfect.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I see a lot of good knives and photos from all of you every day.
Dinadan I don't know about it being my man cave, I like to call it my office and "Preservation Room." I tell everyone I'm not collecting knives, I'm preserving history. My wife Cheryl is not buying it though.
Scott I have several fancy cigar and other type boxes that I have "repurposed." I put foam and some type of felt or satin lining on the inside and then use them to display or give a gift to someone. I'm still envious of the old knives you find all the time.

Scott that is one awesome bit of artistry, a truly great photo. Did you ever think of doing a "Vintage knife" calendar? Maybe you have and I am just not aware of it, I am still new here, but man you sure did well with the subject material in that one.
