Picked up this little one (2 7/8") at a local gun show yesterday. Southern & Richardson with the Nest stamp on the pile side.

That's a nice knife. I have a Southern Richardson but it lacks that tang stamp. Was that only in the older knives?

Thanks. Tweedale says that the nest stamp was first used in 1880, but, gives no information concerning how long it was in use.
