Great looking 72 you picked up in that bundle. I'm prejudiced toward bigger knives. But the 72 is different it is the biggest little knife you'll ever pack.

As a matter of fact I packed one for the better part of last week. Not once did I feel under gunned.

Got this ugly ol thing at the Cave City, KY knife show today. Cover your eyes it's ugly. Hehe!

Bone scales, short line, half stop on the coping blade, and the clip is saber ground in both sides.

Yeah, too bad you have to pollute your pile with that nasty ole thing. If it starts to contaminate the "pool", send it to me, I've got a hazardous waste license.

This is yet more evidence that you and Jerry have ruined me. I looked at the hundreds of knives that Mr. Cohen had out in the table and what caught my eye the very first thing? Yep the only thing I saw was this 72. Lol

Did either of youz see the bone handled 72 last week on Ebay it was missing the shield and had a broken blade--was auctioned off in a group/lot of knives--figured somebody here would end up with it

I've got it setting on my table to sharpen, I want to try this old girl out. Hope I get to it before Thursday, else it'll be a while.

Well I've done done it! I've divested myself of some Camillus 72's. I have all my delrin ones to my three boys (almost 9, 7, 3 1/2).

Now all I have are two Glennbad customs in bone and the old 1st generation bone. They're tickled to death and so am I.

I'm glad to see they went to family. Good choice Cuz.

I am not sure on that, they could have been rehandled in the USA, but I think whoever put that acrylic material on them was just learning how to work on knives. Certainly looks to be done by a novice. The fit & finish is poor, IMO. Look at the red one, mediocre fit on the bolsters and file marks by the front pin. Also peened pins and not spun or domed professional pins. If they were done overseas it must have been by that custom maker, Paki Stan, because the Chinese do better work than that! Usually that is.



Here is the genuine article I picked up at the OKCA show in a lot buy of old stock knives.
It is a long line tang stamp, still has factory edge but a little spidering on the blades and minor spotting on them as well. Minor shop wear to the bolsters but that will buff out as will some of the spotting on the blades. Overall I was happy to get one that was not used, and the price was ok too.

You've just described all the ear-marks of a knife made by Paki Stan. When you add the lack of markings on the knives, where's your room for doubt? The sad part is someone, someplace will buy that line of malarkey and buy the knives because they're cheap (pricewise).


Nice find on that one Dale. Asking price on 72's in that condition is getting to be outrageous. I've just about been priced out of the market on something in factory or near factory condition.

.....#72's are bad enough, but if you think they're bad, try bidding on a Camillus sunfish in decent shape!!!!............... ...........
