here are a couple i picked up this weekend...two ULSTER over USA.
the one appears to have been around salt water or some corrosive substance...a great project knife...
the other i did a three minute gun cotton cleaning....

i have a long story about gun cotton, steel wool, black powder and a 7/8 bore brass cannon....

end of story is a loud...no, a really loud boom...and much gnashing of teeth in the neighbor hood... dogs hiding and howling..ect.

I just picked this one up this morning, a Fidelity Knife Co. "Scout Knife". Does anyone know this company or anything about this kind of scout knife?

Mike, Goin's book say's...c 1939 A trademark used by Simmons Hardware...hope that helps some.

Thanks Bob and Johnnie. I appreciate the info Bob. It's brass and not in bad shape. I cleaned the blades up and oiled it and there's good snap on both blades. I guess I'd better leave the brass as is.

Thank you Phil. At first glance I thought it was a knife with the scales missing. The seller said that's why no one wanted to buy it.

I'm really loving this website - seeing the pictures gives me some ideas on photographing my knife accumulation. I bought this Official BSA pocketknife, made by Imperial, about 15 years ago while on a trip to Camp Dodge, Iowa. I passed a large indoor flea-market type store, and accompanied a buddy who was trying to find a stuffed toy for his adult daughters collection, I browsed around with another pal while we looked at all the junk and stuff. I saw this BSA knife and thought it looked similar to one I had as a Boy Scout that was later lost by one of my younger brothers. I photographed it on my old uniform, which is from the mid to late 1960's, I think the knife is from the late 1940's or early 1950's - which would be similar to my knife; much of my stuff was hand me downs from an uncle and several older cousins. Ps I bought this knife for $5.00.

Nice knife Old Hunter and great photo. Pretty cool that you still have your uniform. Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow no less. I wish I still had mine, it's from about the same era as yours but I never finished the requirements on my Eagle award.

Old Hunter you are right on the money with the time frame for that knife. That model was produced from about 1949-1955 according to Official Scout Blades by Ed Holbrook.

That is a great photo you composed. That uniform takes me back to my days as a scout as well.

Thanks gents. Of course me and the knife just get older (and better) with time - this knife is one of my most useful, residing in my desk drawer - gets called on several evenings a week to still earn it's keep - and it works as well today as it ever did.

Here are two Bokers and an A.G.Russell. The Walnut Boker is their 140th anniversary knife.
