All About Pocket Knives

Catch of the day! One slightly fishy Richards and a little silver plated jewel.
Both are a bit worn but pretty nice. The odd blade on the little guy has a file edge in the inside of the curve, not the flat. Rather odd. It’s pretty ... um.. pretty!
Thé Rivhards seems to be a fish knife. It’s my largest one, so far.
I guess it’s my King Richards !

Nary a Richards to be found today, but $5 Knife Guy had some ‘just for fun’ stuff. He’s actually Three For $10 Guy if you go late!
Here they are - This one is replacing one that I had years ago. The only difference is that my old one had a veggie peeler instead of the punch. This multi is the big brother of my keychain one. If I find a bigger one, I’ll have a whole socket set!
Lastly, I think you can see why I grabbed this piece of tourist trash!

It had my name on it! Spelled right, too!

Wow Ann. What good finds you make. The odd multitool covers a wide range of situations. Not seen one of these before.

Here’s a look at the pair. As you can see, the are the same except for size and the larger one having another socket.
I had a copy of the little one years ago that I bought at a hardware store in Hope. I had another, slightly different one too, from the same place. I think they were packaged by Kitchen Company.
Those two disappeared and after many years I got another one like these at an antique show. I promptly lost the jacket, that had the keys in the pocket, on which was the tool...
I finally found this one and now the big brother!
One kind of interesting thing is the half-Phillips driver. They also have a nice double toothed saw blade and a handy ruler.
There is no proper mark except ‘stainless’ on the small one but the big one is ‘stainless Barlow China’ etched on the knife blade and ‘Coast’ on the side along with some advertising on the back.
I like ‘em!

I picked up something I don't have in My accumulation a Camillus short line #9 I believe to be a Granddaddy Barlow with saw cut scales BUT why is there a cut out in the blade edge?IS this factory or butcher???cleaned her up a little bit

Here’s today’s catch. All Richards. The little guy has probably lost his celluloid. I’m thinking of fancying it up as a project.

I would say they used it as a screwdriver and broke a piece out.

Based upon location on the blade, it looks like a live wire was cut and the damage filed out...

My ex blew a chunk like that out of his professional kitchen knife. Boy was he mad!
Since you probably can’t fix it, it would have been nice to know what happened. Might be an interesting story.
One Christmas my father in law was slicing the turkey with n electric knife and got the cord instead. That was a surprise! No shock, fortunately!

I almost passed on this Maher and Grosh trapper from a local computer auction. I looked at it a week ago down at the building the auction is based out of but the lighting wasn't the best and it was tarnished and dirty. I figured that none of the locals would know what Maher and Grosh were so I might get it cheap. Someone appeared to want it more than me because, during the week, whenever I bid, he would up my bid. I dropped out at $80 and figured I'd let him have it. 5 minutes before the auction ended I checked and someone else took away his bid. I figured I'd poke at it once more and won it. With a little metal polish and better lighting, I'm glad I kept bidding. My pictures leave some to be desired, but the bone is stunning and the blades are full with a little age speckling but still nice. ___Dave

You guys did really good! Some beauties in there. I found these three this past weekend. They are okay but not quite as pretty as some of the ones you guys found. I guess these are more utilitarian? Top is a Imperial, Prov, RI easy opener jack, Next is a Camillus 14 serpentine jack and then a Cattaraugus 20C.

You know, the easy opener is a pretty well made knife. I never knew Imperial made stuff with that much class

That is a nice EO Imperial! Most times they are missing the bail or there is a small piece of bone broken off. You did good finding some pretty bone on all three.

Stopped by a local True Value Hardware store today to buy a pack of cup hooks, browsed the knife case. Saw an older Buck EcoLite 110 in the case and decided it should be mine. OH

Geez dude. That 14 has bone handles and really nice ones. You don't see a 14 with bone handles very often. Great find you lucky duck.

Nice knife. Definitely schrade, likely walden era 1950's.

Dogg, it does, just as solid, but of course it is lighter. Not as light as the new 110 LT, but the EcoLite has steel liners which the new ones lack - had my eye open for one of these for a while. A local hardware store seems to be a good place to find fairly recent NOS knives. OH
