It's been used and loved a lot over the years and that's what I intend to do with it. I'm planning to run it past the Lansky and drop it in my pocket. Thanks Mike. She's salty.

You are very welcome Jerry....she is home where she belongs....!

You are welcome Perry, I know she's no jewel, but it is still pretty solid for being such an oldie.

Yes that Mike is quite the Bomber indeed! Murph, you would think so but there's a bunch of earlier ones that I'm bound to find. It's all about the hunt!

It must be that Mike has turned into Mad Mike the Marine machirologist (
Greek for knife collector) bomber!
Mike struck clear here in Oregon this week!
Mike had me all lined up with proper elevation and windage.
He thought they were parts knives, but I think it is some pretty cool Schrade Shrapnel!
Thank you Mike!
Those are some good parts to work with, I especially like the big ones!
Semper Fi!
I got bombed twice in one week.
Rich Langston (lt632ret) had me in his sights too.
He scored a bull’s eye with this AWESOME Canal Street!
Thank you LT!
I have this thing for single slim clip blade knives, and when it is a modern day SCHRADE in D2 steel……..

You have not heard of the 105 Recoilless rifle?
If you are on the receiving end you will swear it was a bomb!
You even get a similar feeling when you are at the sending end.
It is not “user friendly.”

Well don't stand behind the damn thing. You probably shot toilet seat anyway.

You can shoot Maggie's drawers with a 105 and still kill everything in the surrounding area!

In ITR, the 105 Recoiless (and the BAR) was what impressed me most. They sat a wooden crate behind it and when they pulled the trigger, the crate disappeared.

Holy Back Blast Batman!! Stand behind a 105 and that thing will send you to heaven in a plastic bag. "I need a 10 man working party to police up Private Vincent".
BAR is a heavy old beast but on a bi-pod, it's AWSOME.
Uh, what was this thread about?

Before you know it, dawns the day when you're the "old guy". It happens in the blink of an eye.

My favorite was the LAW rocket and the old WWII Bazooka.
The Bazook was a hoot and they were both accurate. I got direct hits with both!

We just had the 3.5" Rocket Launcher (Bazooka). The LAW came much later. All the fam. fire exercises were a hoot but my favorite was the BAR (105 demo doesn't count as fam. fire).

You are welcome Dale! Schrade Shrapnel...I like that one!
by the way...I remember firing off the LAW in Marine Combat Training.."Backblast area all clear!!??" That was one mean mamajama. Got to say the SAW was about my favorite though, highly portable and able to put 800 rounds a minute down range...gotta love that. (despite it's slight tendency to jam..) Nothing makes ya feel quite as powerful though as sitting behind a big ol' 50 cal...now that thing could bring down a building with some strategically placed rounds, seen it happen actually on more than one occasion.

Hey Mike, thanks again!
The SAW was a long way from being in the field when I went through ITR, but I can see that it would be a lot of fun!
I did have fun helping out the 81MM mortar crew one evening when we were setting up for the Night Fire course.
They even let me drop a round down the tube.
That was fun, but you see up close how devastating they can be.
Which is very disquieting when one finds oneself on the wrong side of a mortar.
Time for a reissue of skivvies!
