Del McCoury has been in the business a long time. He was a banjo player but when he went to work for Bill Monroe in the 1960's Bill needed a guitar player and lead singer, so that's what he's doing now. To me, he's one of the best rhythm guitar players in the business. The mandolin player and banjo player are his sons.
Hank, I kinda like that Foghorn Stringband. I think I'd call the music "Americana".

The mandolin player is Caleb Klauder. Bill Monroe is rather well known for playing his mandolin a bit hard (and for having it banged around for him). But Caleb REALLY beats on his. I think he fires live rounds when he gets his tremolo going.
Here's another by Del McCoury and the Masters of Bluegrass. Del on guitar, Bobby Hicks on fiddle, J.D. Crowe on banjo, Bobby Osborne on mandolin and Jerry McCoury (Del's brother) on bass. Recorded at the Festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Ky.
Oh my goodness. It looks like the new software disabled all the old tunes. Ah well looks like I'll have to get a six pack of New Castle and work on this some night.

Yeah, you no longer have to remove the 's' from "https". In fact it no longer works without the 's'. Don't know what Bryan did. It was for the better but it sure played havoc with old posts.

Mercy, Bonnie Raitt looks like she's been dragged through a briar patch backwards. I guess she cain't help it. Just looked it up and she was born in 1949. Still has the vocals going on though.

Jerryd what about the funny looking backwards 3 and everything after it?

Greg, as far as I can tell the current procedure is to copy the URL and paste it directly with no deletions. The backwards '3' you're talking about, I think, is an ampersand (the and sign) in a different font.
If there's an ampersand (or backwards 3) in the copied URL and your YouTube link doesn't work, delete it and everything that follows and see if it works then but I don't think that's necessary now.
From Wikipedia: "In everyday handwriting, the ampersand is sometimes simplified in design as a large lowercase epsilon (Ɛ) or a backwards numeral 3 superimposed by a vertical line. The ampersand is also often shown as a backwards 3 with a vertical line above and below it or a dot above and below it."

I had heard of Mo Bandy but never Mo Pitney. Just crusin' YouTube today when I stumbled on to this young man and I was blown away. Wow! What a voice for a 22 year old. He sounds like he's already in the prime of his career as a Country entertainer. At first I thought he might be related to Gene Pitney (grandson maybe) until I looked him up in Wikipedia. Imagine my shock when I discovered he was born right here in Rockford Illinois. Wowser. Give a listen. Maybe you too will be captivated by his solid Country sound.
Edit: In one of the videos I watched, he said he grew up in a Baptist home. Wouldn't it really be something if he went to church at the Free Will Baptist Church that my daddy built both spiritually and literally with his own two hands? I guess I'll never know but it's something to think about.
He has a sister and not only can she sing too, she's a real looker.

34 minutes of "The Scots-Irish musical legacy in the USA"
T.J. this is an example of one that had the backwards 3 and it's trailing characters which had to be removed for it to work.

Well Jerry, I just enjoyed that Scots-Irish video, when I should be watchin' college football!
As that dude was headin' south down the wagon road, I thought he might land in Blairsville, Ga. My wife youngest brother and his wife live there and participate in a similar festival, she the musician, he wears the kilt . Miss Joy's mother's family was Scots-Irish so he fits right in. The old music sure beats what most folks listen to today.
