Have you guys ever seen a goldfish this fat? It lives in our 500 gallon watering trough, Rocky laying on the rim for scale. It's so large you can actually see it along the back wall in the 2nd picture. Probably been in there 15+ years.

Until my eyes and brain got connected I thought I was seeing your goldfish swimming in the trees. Must be a lonely existence even for a goldfish.

You have one large goldfish there.

It would be a natural cleaner of your tank, it would just be eating algae at it's pleasure, keeping your tank clean and putting on condition.

Once upon a time, he or she had buddies, but they got fished out by raccoons. I guess this one is smart enough not to get coon fingered.

Very fine buck, OH. A great family outing!

I have had some fat goldfish in my pond, but never anything like that fellow in your tank, Redrider. We are down to two goldfish in our little pond. Every couple of years my wife gets a dozen hatchlings, and one by one the raccoons fish them out. The two that are left now are a couple of years old. The longest any have lasted is maybe five years.

Yes they are of the Carp family. I do not know the laws of your country, but if found releasing Goldfish/ Carp into our water ways there are very heavy fines and penalties. Jail depending on the circumstances.

Same here. I know guys who use them for bait. But if the gut and feathers boys catch you with them on the lake or river, we’ll just say they aren’t real amused.
