Thanks TF! It's been a long dry spell. Fencing and feeding these three food vacuums, er I mean boys, has put a kink in the knife buying!

They are both Winterbottom bone and have the same jigging on both sides. One side is darker red and the other almost white. The jigging on the darker side didn't show up as well in the light here in the house, but other than the color they are both the same.

I like old muskrats too. These old Kutmasters had the thinnest blades. I bet it's a skinning fool. I need to try it on the next rabbit hunt.

Dave's gun show finds. A Fred Biffar, Chicago Ill. Bowie Hunter, a Case kids hunting knife in stag, a Case on dot peanut in Appaloosa bone, and a Case XX near mint hawkbill in walnut.___Dave

Hitting some places on the way to a banquet tonight for last years racing season. I found this for the paltry price of $1, so I figured why not. The day is not over, so maybe more to come.

I'm going with "Knife Finds of the Year" with these two: The First is one you might have seen around the forum before: A stunning Case Tested XX 61098 pattern folder I purchased from our very own "RalfAlsip" a generous, thoughtful --not to mention astute-- gentleman whom it's been a pleasure exchanging ideas about pocket knives and their history with this year. And a spectacular S&M 5.5 inch toothpick I had the incredible good fortune to win on Ebay recently. I've never been a box guy but I gotta tell you, The seller shipped the big tickler in an old scope mount box which it fit in perfectly and ever since I've been making up stories about it being found that way in some old guys basement and the excellent condition of the knife is because he forgot where he put the knife and then promptly dropped dead leaving it for the estate scavangers to unbury...ok, so it's not Hemingway but you get my drift--Enjoy!

Sounds quite likely to me. Unfortunately us old knife guys always die and then often a relative finds some knives years later. In fact i have put some very fine knives away in their boxes and now i don't know where they are. Eventually they will get found and then maybe ebayed.

This Schiffler Mammoth Ivory custom has been sitting in a local consignment/used merchandise store close to where I live for almost two years. I have looked at it time and time again and even though it's a fine knife I always felt it was just over priced for a relatively unknown maker and it being scrimshawed. Well today he dropped the price......a lot.

Nice one! I did the same with a Leatherman Surge at a local surplus store. They wanted $100 for it; even though someone had lost the small pouch that also contains the metal file that slips into the sheath to hold a saw blade and file. Well, 3 years since, and they've been doing a lot of inventory reduction this year (I assume they plan on merging it and a pawnshop that are owned by the same guy), and back in the Spring; I got the tool for $45.

Great score I have a Wave that is very handy.

Had them a spot ready since last week. I put them in and take them out, I put them in and take them out, I put them in and take them out. I think after this photo I will just go ahead and put them in my pants pockets for tomorrow! It's for sure a sickness I suffer from.

New this forum. Just wondering if anyone has any info on this knife I was gifted a few years ago. It's stamped E.Weiler. I can't find anything on it.
