I just stumbled across this post Nev, otherwise I'd have commented sooner.
That's one cool Barlow you have there.
I love the shade of green!

Your new Barlow looks as good as it did in "Mail Call", David.
Big solid looking knife!

That last Case is my idea of a collectible piece, old, well used but well maintained, an honest crack, and a thousand stories to tell. New knives are nice but that's where the fish bite for me.

Could not agree with you more, Ridgegrass. The others are not of any particular interest to me, however that old Case just screams adventure. Though I don't particularly care for barlow pattern knives, or steel bolsters and liners, I like this knife. I give this particular folder a pocket ride several days a year.

Picked up a new one for the Barlow display case. I thought when I saw this that it wasn’t actually made by Bob Cargill and I was correct. Thought it might be a GEC or Queen. After handling it and doing some research found out this was made in 1994 by Queen. For comparison to other Queen made Barlows I took a picture of this one next to a couple of Robeson’s by Queen. As you can see no doubt about who made this one. Brown sawcut bone and perfect centering on both blades. It’s a very nice example of the high quality that Queen did.

Special knife, Mark, I've admired Barlow's ever since receiving my Green River 9"er from you.
The new one fits right in with the others, very nice.

Thank you for the compliments Mark, Top Dog and Rev.
I’ve never gotten into the novelty knives Top Dog, wonder how they hold up if you use them?

Truth be told it is not best to put them to hard use or carry loose in your pocket with $12.50 in change and some nuts and bolts stuffed in there. In a soft case they do better than stuffed in a pocket where rubbing takes place. I carried a "Hop a Long Cassidy" Barlow back int he day and I ended up putting a lot of wear and tear on it.

It would have been better if I had babied it a bit more...

Those are some nice pics of fabulous knives. Love the Cripple Creek and the Robesons in that bottom pic. 3 killer knives.

Thanks Iman, those are some of my favorites. These Robeson Barlows are getting very hard to get and they ain’t going cheap. This is my first Cripple Creek made by Queen but it won’t be my last.
