Oh, well. I don't smoke anymore and that's the excuse I use for buying knives and Lottery tickets.
Maybe you had a temperature and were delirious, love those handles.

Very insightful of you Bill. I'm going with that. What with fighting this cold and all, I wasn't in my right mind.
Thank you for that great save.

I received my Flu shot 3 days ago and I like it.
That is: I like your RR Jerry, not the Flu shot.

Thanks Dan.
I got my flu shot back in October but it doesn't look like it protects you from airplane air. (I'm sure that's where I got my cold.)

Jerry, that's why I don't fly anywhere, I always have pocket knife and I don't like the flu! I do like rams horn handles though! Nice knife!

Well, it was too far to walk and TSA did unearth a pocket knife in my suitcase I hadn't seen in a couple of years. Yeah, Dale got me hooked on Exterior Ram's Horn with that Camillus 72 he did up for me. I don't expect the RR to be as nice but what the hey, she's cheap.

I've been wanting a Case 87 pattern stockman, with black handles, to go into my Stockman collection - this one has the scarcer Sheepfoot secondary blade and is a ten dot to boot. Last knife purchase of 2017 and it will be my first knife of 2018 when it arrives. OH

Thanks Paul. I'm thinking I had better get back out in the yard and finish my work, these breaks are getting expensive. Just found a nice, new grind Case 5318 (second cut) on ebay to go into my 18 pattern collection. That's enough collection expansion for one day! OH

Go get 'em Colonel. That's the way it's done.
Got a couple of refugees from the Pacific Rim on the way. Kinda what the hey did I do that for but it's too late now.

I couldn't stand the temptation any longer.

This one is on it's way from Mike to me.

Very nice looking sowbelly. It's too bad they are kind of a scarcely made pattern, I really like them.

Nice Greg, I watched you fall - Mike added a few eloquent lines and you jumped right off the ledge; I see you over there - wish we had chutes! OH

I was doing so well OH. I hadn't bought a knife since 3 days before Christmas and when I saw Mike313 make that post I just knew someone was about to buy it right out from under me. I had to move fast!

Paul they are a pattern that knife makers don't make that often and when they do, it's usually in limited numbers. I don't know why, they are such interesting knives.

Queen makes an S&M Sowbelly in Smooth White Oiled Bone. So tempting but I'm still waiting for the release of the GEC 78 two blade in Stag.

I never gave much thought to carrying a sow belly But then after seeing the Northwood that Greg snagged and then the one Jerry picked up I start considering it but instead of dropping 150 bucks on an expensive one I decided to pick up this Roughrider I don’t own any other Roughriders But I did see this same bone (tobacco bone) discussed on a few other threads and I thought it was pretty cool myself so I figured for $9.54 how could I go wrong? I am now just waiting for it to get here, I also bought it’s sister in Chestnut jigged bone for the same cost I am interested in getting these and first seeing if I like the pattern enough to drop some dollars on a higher quality one but then again I might be pleasantly surprised with these you never know
I may have to reconsider and get myself a new signature

Here is my Queen made 1999 Moore Maker 5 blade Sowbelly, which i have carried & used, along with 2 RR Sowbelly knives, a 5 and a 3 blade.
All are 3 3/4". Note how the blades are packed more snugly in the RR, yet no significant rub. The RR 3 blade SB has nearly got sunk joints.
These 2 RR are as well made as the Queen. All 3 are good knives.

I didn't buy that one Gino. I was just showing that S&M has a sowbelly out.
What I did buy today was one of the Great Eastern 78s in smooth white bone. I'll have to reassess the knife budget when the stag edition comes out. Won't get it for a while because I paid by check and the check just went out in today's mail.
Sellers picture.

Very nice Jerry; one of the best handle materials that GEC does is the smooth white bone. I have one of their Barlow's in that bone and have always liked the way it looks. OH

If I may ask, Gino, where did you find the tobacco bone sowbelly for that price? I"ve been accumulating the tobacco bone RRs and I'm a big fan of the sowbelly pattern, I have way too few for how much I like them but I"d like to change that.

Feel free to PM if you would prefer, and thanks!

I am waiting for a Kershaw Random Task.
I finally found a new one w/o box at a decent price.
