I hunted with my Remington Versa Max, but took some time to to put a couple of shells through my 100+ year old Stevens 105 until I took down a dove with it. Last year was a really good dove season. ... However..... ... .....This year, not a great dove season so far, too damn dry this year and last year winter. I got a mesquite thorn right through my shoe into the ball of my foot. If I didn't have my Leatherman with me, it would still be there

... Thanks! ... I got it more than 30 years ago. I sent some money to The Bank of Boulder to be held in a "CD" for a number of years and they sent me that Browning as soon as the got my money, in lieu of interest

How old is that one. I have two that are not twins. The first one I bought around 85. That one has been used and I have not taken care of as good as I should have. It has been in the swamp, boat. I have shot doves, ducks and pheasants with it. So if it is raining that one gets pulled out.
Six years ago I got my second Citori 725 feather it still gets used but a little more sparingly. I will have to get it out for a picture.

A little story about a Citori I wish I had.
I own a small pawnshop and had a customer that frequently pawned a 20ga Citori for a small $$ amount. And he was always late to redeem it but always did. Then one time he wanted to borrow a lot more money. I picked up the gun and shouldered it, fit me perfectly. I loaned him what he wanted with a warning, “If you are even 1 day late you will never see the gun again, it will be in my safe”
He was early to pick it up. Dang it!

Here I am out with the Benelli Legacy 28.

28 gauge is fun but tricky, you have to practice for sure. And the Legacy 28 may have the lightest swing weight of any gun I've shot, its just a lot of fun and absolutely beautiful

... Thanks! ... I got it more than 30 years ago... about 1992 ... as I recall.... Well, it still feels great in the hands and very well made, I used it for trap & skeet for many years, so I suppose soft duty such as that would have left her looking pretty good after all these years later.... ... But as I am getting up there in years, I reckon' some hard duty hunting birds out in the desert is what she needs these days....

Nice old Citori, TD! I have a similar one - a Satin Hunter - I bought back around 2013 or so. It was a Shot Show special.
Me and my buddies went back out to the ranch this past weekend. Plenty of dove here - we all got our limit all 3 days. Also shot a lot of clays off the throwers, and had a few competitions with our .22s. Good food, good friends, and a few beers. Always a great time.

Sounds like an awesome weekend .... The early dove season petered out pretty quick out West... Opening day there were lots of birds, but soon thereafter, it seems that there were hardly any birds around. I was going in the early morning and only seeing a handful of birds. Last year was much better. ...This year has been very dry... probably not a good sign for quail season

I picked up this 40mm flare cartridge for my cartridge collection. Compare to the 30-06 for size. Bore would be about 1.56 inches.

Very nice 28! I think a 28 gauge will be my next purchase. I missed out on one a few months ago - I should have pulled the trigger (pun intended) but I didn't, then it was gone.

I did run across another Beretta 391 a friend was selling a few weeks ago. This one has a 30" barrel with a mid-rib and a Monte Carlo stock with an off-set (adjustable) butt pad. I have shot it in league the last couple of weeks with so-so results. Still getting used to it. Not sure if I will stay with it or go back to the A400.
