Very nice pictures BigHomer. Here is A Tiger Swallowtail caterpillar........I think! It will eventually look like the butterfly in your picture.The eyes are false.

Just a comment about caterpillars, we more often see the Giant Swallowtail caterpillars on our Satsuma orange tree. The are not as colorful as the one you have pictured, they look like bird droppings. They are very hard to spot, they will defoliate a small citrus tree in a few days if left to grow. This caterpillar is called an Orange Dog.

bighomer, with such abundant wildlife, you could create a little park for visitors while charging a modest fee.

Hey folks, neat stuff here ,everything from rainbows to tarantulas,!
My brother and I just got back from cabin up near Hayward,Wi. We launched our 1934 Hacker Craft w/ inboard ( new crate motor 318) ,and it was awesome. They sure built a heck of a nice all wooden boat . Later that evening we took the pontoon out at limited on walleyes in the 16 to 18 inch slot . Had a dandy on at about dark and lost him ,felt like a 23/24 inches. It was a blast . . Got pics of fish here somewhere, will post over weekend.

A few more shots of the ordinary and overlooked items of our world. The first couple were taken 2 months ago, Elderberry in bloom. The 3rd is the Elderberry fruit, as of this morning. Lastly, a couple photos of a Silver Spotted Skipper. No, I am not a butterfly guy, just saw what I thought would be a good photo and then had to research to find the species name.

Thank you, it was about the most beautiful day possible for pics and being outdoors .
Will post pics of the flow age and Hayward area in a few weeks ,when we go back after Labor Day. We will stay at our home till after Labor Day as it gets rather busy up there during long holiday weekends. By then there will be more color in the trees, seen a little red ,orange ,yellows on the Maple trees already. Take care and be safe out there.

I fish vicariously by watching this young man's YouTube videos. He lives in Fargo, ND, but fishes mostly in Minnesota.

His name is Matt and he is the most phenomenally accurate caster I have ever seen, also very successful.

I watch some of his videos every day. They go back to 2013 and I'm trying to catch up.

He posted this video just the other day. It brought tears to my eyes. The older I get, the more sentimental I become.

Ike, thanks for the colorful and interesting shots. I think the great attribute of cameras is that they compel us to pay attention to our world and see many details we would otherwise miss. I used to encourage students to carry a magnifying glass and a pair of binoculars as often as possible even if they live in a city. There is so much that can be observed.

Charlie, that was a great video. And what a superb bass. I will be watching more of Matt's videos.

Watch the one with the yellow duck lure. He posted it just a few weeks ago. It has had well over three million views and the company that made the lure has used it on their website. They sent him two big boxes of lures.

He catches really beautiful smallmouths in the rivers up there.

Just watched the video, Charlie. Thanks for sharing it. I wonder if Grandpa would have done the catch and release? Would have made a nice pile of filets and back bones to swim in some hot peanut oil.

Wade, it would be interesting if you would post some photos of that syrup making operation. I can't Imagine how much of that BB sized fruit would be required. I'll bet those boys end up with purple fingers!
