Been looking for a nice condition, One-Line Buck in any one of my favorite patterns, to add to my collection. Just tripped across one on the Blade Forums classifieds and it happens to be in my top choice Buck fixed blade pattern, the Buck 118. Should ship out in tomorrows mail. Sellers picture - even has a custom shop case.
OH

Love that sheath. That's very classy plus the knife looks to be in very good condition.

Thanks Jerry. I really like the sheath too, even though it's not original to the knife. I'm thinking that knife is somewhere in the 1967 - 68 date range and the sheath is circa 1980's. BUT, I like em both and that's what counts to me! Nice thing about buying used and not 100% original is that I can take it deer hunting without messing up the value of an absolutely pristine piece - more fun of ownership for me. OH

Bought this Pumma Hobbytec here in the AAPK stores.
Very special knife to me, with an interesting story.
Set me on the path to the accumulator I am today . . . .
(seller's pic, obviously)

I saw that one Royal, nice looking knife - every Puma I've handled seems to be very well built. OH

Well are you going to tell us the story or keep us in suspenders? Come on, give. Inquiring minds want to know.

Knife came in and it turns out it's a SportTec rather than a HobbyTec . . .
Completely my fault. A much larger knife. Still darn good for the price.

Short version ; in the fall of 1998 my future wife was invited by a friend to fly to Germany for 2 weeks.
Silke is from near Frankfort and had married an American Serviceman (Bobby). She was going home to have their first child (Leah) christened.
I actually bought Kris' engagement ring while she was gone, but that's another story.
While there, she visited some cutlery store and purchased 4 Puma knives; two for the brothers, one for herself,
and one for me. Those knives flew home in the cockpit with the flight crew.
That was my first true EDC, and I carried it faithfully for several years. Then one night at work I
screw-drivered the tip. I put the knife away, and started the search for a suitable replacement.
Guess where that lead . . . .

Looking forward to getting this one. Also got a NF ebony version reserved. Not quite "ebony and ivory", but close.

Tony, I was hot to trot on this one but now I'm on the fence, hemming and hawing over it. I really like the looks of it and it's a nice size but Christmas is only two weeks away so do I really want to........................... etc, etc, etc.
Be sure to report back when you get it.

Tony that's a great looking knife. Hard to beat a classic Jack Knife.
I'm a sucker for the spear and pen blade combo.

Very nice Tony - GEC has captured an authentic, vintage look for that jack. Got notice my three dot Buck 110 was on the move, left Nevada yesterday, should be here on Wednesday. Pictures from the gent I traded with. OH
Oops, forgot the pictures.

Ps Because my three dot is coming without a sheath, I dug around ebay yesterday and found a correct one for bid - should also be here Wednesday. OH

Thanks Gino, took it hunting yesterday and used it in the woods for some mundane tasks - took a better picture while I was out. OH

Excellent pick-up and a true classic knife, OH.

I will admit that the newer "rounded" 110 frame feels a little better in the hand (who says all progress is bad?) but the edgy, squared-off earlier models, like yours and like my two-dots, are waaaaay better-looking.

Tony, I came late to liking the blocky Bucks - prefered the rounded edge models until I started seriously using the old versions - got converted! OH

Camillus made one with circuit board handles but I'm not willing to pay the prices they're getting for them. This one was semi-reasonable because of it's condition and I'm a Wharncliffe junkie.

I'm so weak. I know why I wanted this one (Rams Horn Handles) but I don't know why I bought it.

Oh, well. I don't smoke anymore and that's the excuse I use for buying knives and Lottery tickets.
