Ken - The first picture appears to show a matchstrike nail nick, the second one doesn't. Is it marked 8OT on the back tang? Pretty coloring on that bone.

Nice old bone 8OTs guys!
There are nuances to old used bone that the Delrin just cannot match, despite its near indestructibly!

I like that one Grant. What did you pay for that one.
I would think about replacing the blades, if I had found that one.
All the black marks showing on my knife, is shadows. I will take some good photos and post them soon.
Last month I stayed at Rydgers Hotel on the track at Bathurst for the race week (7 days),
before driving to Orange and on to your home town. (Stayed for one night before staying a the Crown Newcastle)
Now I have just get into the car to drive to Orange, then I have to be in Sydney at 6pm Monday.
I have driven 9,500 km in the last month... Ken

Ken I purchased the knife of a person collecting for a charity.I think I paid about $70 .It seemed a bit to much at the time but you don't see any for sale with the bone handles and it went to a good cause.I was thinking of putting new blades on the knife but it could damage the bone.So I leave it closed and look at the bone.
I would have to agree with Dale there is something about old bone handles.

Just arrived. When this Joe Kious design was put on the market some years ago I couldn't rationalize the expenditure. Still can't but I pulled the trigger anyway. Whoever assembled the knife did it right.

Great knife Quick Steel! It's smaller than you would think when you have it in hand, isn't it. I have one that I have has for about 5 years now and I love it. Were you fortunate enough to get the Nylon zip pouch and paperwork with it?

Hi Chase,
Yes, my tape shows OAL of 3ΒΌ in. Although it is fancy enough to go to formal occasions, I don't have a need for that so tho it will be held in high regard don't plan to make it a user. For me it is closer to jewelry than a using knife. Do you carry yours?
Here is what came with the little beauty. The leather puch is made to look like ostrich but it isn't.

Yes, that's everything I have with mine as well! It's a great Schrade/Joe Kious Collaboration knife.
I do not carry my knife, she sits in a large display cabinet along with a bunch of her Schrade relatives...LOL
Have you seen the Schrade/Barnett Collaboration knife?

Wow! Excellent display. I only saw the Barnett knife in pictures. But its looking good. Am not sure what I would do if it came on the market. Depend of the price I suppose.

That sounds right. Paid just a bit more for the Kious. Here is an Imperial Shrade that came in this afternoon's mail.

Think Taylor imported some nice knives through the years nothing to compare with higher end knives but nice knives--the only Taylor/Schrade I've handled was a large Sod Buster I got off Ebay for real cheap late one night while impulse buying--it seemed like a nice knife I give it to a friend of mine that is a motor man on a drilling rig and he's been using it daily for two plus years cutting open bags when he's mixin the slurry--every time he get's off from a hitch he says something about still using it at work.

Here is the official description of the Schrade subforum: "Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.
This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name."
