Thank you Q.
David, I say that so much my wife thinks I’m a broken record. My display cases are overflowing with knives I just couldn’t let go.

Mark, I always tell my wife when we are looking at a new batch of knives ... "I cant' keep 'em all" ... then after she leaves ... if any are keepers, they go in the safe. That's gonna be all good till I need to buy another safe lol!

But seriously, those are beautiful Robesons!

Sharpnshinyknives wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 8:38 pm Got these in a collection I purchased last month. Thought a group shot would be a good idea before they all found other homes. Robeson by Queen red stag bone. Might have to dig out some other sub-collections in this 44 piece collection but this one stood out right away.
Top left: fiddleback whittler, second down on left: humpback whittler, third down on left: peanut.
Top right: stockman, second down on right: Congress, and last is a tuxedo knife.
Over looked two others a canoe and a muskrat.

Another bunch of beauties SSK, beautiful pieces every one. They did some sweet bone at Queen during those years. ::tu:: ::tu::

Thank you Tony and Iman.

Having a store gives you access to some of the best knives that others have collected. But you really can’t keep them all. There are some others in this collection I am eying and still undecided on whether to keep them or sell them. When a knife that is a pattern you collect comes along, it’s pretty hard to pass up. I’ve learned from my many years collecting that if you have the money available when a knife you collect comes along, you should buy it because it could be many years before another one surfaces. I know that from personal experience and having waited for 7 to 8 years between when I should have bought and when I did buy. But the hunt is half the fun of collecting.

Couple of other sub collections I have. The top ones are Seki made lockbacks that A.G. Russell had made in both sizes. One of these is an Aristocrate, but there is little difference in these.
The next group are my Moki Kronos or similar models. 4 of these I had made for my store, the blue bone and barbwire jigged bone. They call the red one an Ares, but it’s basically the same knife. The wooden handled one is a little different as is the pearl and abalone one. Both sizes on the Kronos models the 433 and the 533. This is by no means all my Moki’s just these that are similar. I might have to use one of these as my screen saver.

Thanks Mark, I liked the way these Moki’s turned out, so it’s probably going to be my new screen saver for sure.

You guys are showing some beautiful collections here. ::tu:: ::tu::

Here are some American - Winsted folders. Group of eight.

In the picture of four knives, the top knife is a BUD Brand, Winsted and the bottom knife is a Kendal, Winsted.
Surely they're cousins. ::woot::

I like the Winstead knives. I don’t know much about that brand. They all look like well made knives.
Took some group shots of similar knives made for Cattaraugus Cutlery under A.G. Russell. All made in Japan and have jigged bone, either red or brown jigged bone. The ones with engraving or special blade artwork are all from the first few produced. Working on acquiring all of these with the engraving or artwork.

Man, you guys are really showing some sweet collections! Steamboat Willie, SSK Mark, Ivoryman, FRJoe, chickenman, y'all are killing it 8) ::tu::

Mark, those AG Russells reminded me of a little sub-collection I had some years ago: AG Russells with black pearl covers. My favorite was the Mediterranean Barlow with the cool bolster lock. These are just a few more in a long list of knives I regret selling (but never tire of looking at the photos and reminiscing :) ).

Case Classics are a particular favorite of mine. I haven’t collected them because I just haven’t wanted to pour the money into all the patterns and handle materials. Some day when I get done with others, I will start on a Case Classic collection. Those are all beautiful.

Q, I think I’ve owned or sold most of those same knives at one time or another. Love them all. The Matt Conable Spire is a favorite of mine beautiful collection.
