Today I'm adding this knife to my collection. It is a 1917-1925, ALLEN CUTLERY CO - NEWBURGH N.Y., 2 blade pocket knife. The stamp is in the middle of the handle. It needed cleaning and it received a cleaning (the before pictures are in the last post on page 5). I took some pictures and here it is.

It's been 6 months since the last family portrait. Since then, the family has grown slightly. So here they are, all together, just the "ALLEN" family. The last picture is an advertisement showing the different ALLEN patterns.

I just bought this knife. It's an ALLEN CUTLERY CO. - NEWBURGH N.Y. (1917-1925), single blade pocket knife. When it arrives, I'll clean it if it needs to be cleaned. It looks like it needs cleaning. Here is the knife. Not my picture.

Today this knife joins my collection. A (1917-1925) ALLEN CUTLERY CO., NEWBURGH N.Y., single blade pocket knife. It has two stamps. One on the handle, the other is on the tang. It wasn't here for the latest ALLEN family portrait, it may be awhile until the next portrait. It needed a good cleaning. The "before" picture is in the previous post. I cleaned it, took some pictures and here it is.

Today I added this pocket knife to my collection. It's an Ulery U11, single blade, hawkbill pruner(?) pocket knife. This is the description that is in Goins. "ULERY NEW YORK USA. This marking was seen on an all-metal knife made on the Allen Cutlery Company patent. It was made by the Napanoch Knife Company about 1917-1919." It received a gentle cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

***** A VERY VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU goes out to Steve B., aka bladebuddy, for his thoughtfulness and generosity in giving me this knife. THANK YOU Steve. :D ::tu:: ::handshake:: *****

Today I added this knife to my collection. Another ALLEN CUTLERY CO., NEWBURGH N.Y., single blade pocket knife (1917-1925). It has two stamps. One stamp is on the handle, the other stamp is on the tang. It needed a little cleaning. I cleaned it, took some pictures and here it is.

Back on August 25, I added these two pocket knives from EAGLE KNIFE CO. (1916-1919) to my collection. They are each a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y. (1917-1925) and the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. The first one is a single blade pocket knife. The second one is a single blade, 1 tool, "SCOUT KNIFE" pocket knife.

More EAGLE KNIFE CO., here.

Today I added, to my collection, this ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y. (1917-1925), single blade pocket knife. This is my third pocket knife of this particular pattern. It is the elusive pattern No.20, the "Ni**er Chaser." That's not my term, see the 6th picture below. It has no tang stamp(s), both stamps are on the handle. Unlike all of my other ALLEN pocket knives, this one still has the black, oxidized handle(s). It is in great condition and it required no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. Today this knife joins my collection. Another ALLEN CUTLERY CO., NEWBURGH N.Y., single blade pocket knife (1917-1925). It has two stamps. One stamp is on the handle, the other stamp is on the tang. Unlike my other "ALLEN" knives and "ALLEN" knives posted by other collectors, this knife has a handle with a "design" or "grips" carved into it. Did it come this way from the factory? I highly doubt it. But there is a VERY SLIGHT chance that it did. More than likely it was done by a previous owner. Whichever the case, it's the first "ALLEN" knife that I've seen with a handle like this one (I'm not complaining). It needed some cleaning. I cleaned it, took some pictures and here it is.

A few knives have been added to the "ALLEN" family since the last group portrait was taken back in June (second post, this page). I decided that it was time to update the family portrait. Again, as with the last family portrait, it only features the ALLEN CUTLERY CO., NEWBURGH N.Y. knives.
The last picture is an ad that features the different "ALLEN" patterns.

While researching something else, I found the first item pictured below.
That item is related to this item (the one pictured last), also at this link.
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7445&start=75#p855262

So now, I have seen another "ALLEN" with "designs" or "grips" in the handles.
It also has, what appears to be, a "built-in" cap lifter/bottle opener.
It also appears that these "designs" or "grips" WERE done at the factory. ::tu::

Skip, I think you have probably addressed these questions in the past, but......how many different patterns of Allen Cutlery knives do you have, and how many total knives from Allen Cutlery?

My most recent addition to my collection is this all metal pocket knife. While it is NOT actually an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife, I do consider it a distant "cousin." It fits right in with the other "cousins" with a similar handle style, such as EAGLE KNIFE CO., the GEO. SCHRADE, IMPERIAL and BOKER Scout utensil kit knives, etc, etc. It's a VALLEY FORGE, 2 blade, 3 3/16" closed, pocket knife. Each blade has a tang stamp, one is more legible than the other. The "VF" in a double circle stamp, is on the handle on each side of the pocket knife. I gave it a cleaning, took some pictures and here it is.
