I think it is a cheese or cake knife or some other specialized kitchen knife. I was thinking about having a kydex sheath made for it and making it into a neck knife... it is lightweight and take a very good edge...

Here is an EnZo kit knife from Finland. I wrapped the handle with a cord and then soaked the cord with a resin to harden it. I then painted the hardened cord. I put nail polish on the blade edge and my an outline of my dog's paw to do an acid stain. However the metal turned out to be a type of stainless steel and the etching/stain did not take.

Got this EKA yesterday in Severna Park, MD. Interesting construction: coffin-shaped handles attached with good-sized brass screws, Parkerized main blade, stainless cap-lifer/screwdriver, advertiser, "DOBEL" . Pretty well untouched, just a little dirty. J.O'.

Here's one that belonged to one of my 1st cousins who was much older than me. Some how my mother took it away from him when he was a youngster doing something out of line. Mother was 18 years older than Richard who was born in 1925. He would have been 10 in 1935, a good age to have your knife confiscated by an aunt, so the knife must be at least 85 years old.
My cousin was a Marine and operated a landing craft in the South Pacific during WWII. As a youngster I remember him telling of the hot brass falling into the landing craft as the American planes strafed the beach as they were putting troops on shore.
When cousin Richard got out of the Marine Corp at the end of the war, he followed in his dad's steps and became an electrician. He moved to Cocoa, Florida and worked at the Cape till he retired. The higher up on the gantry tower you worked the more money you were paid, was what he used to say.
His son, my 2nd cousin, was my age. He passed back in 2018, he too was a Master Electrician at Cape Canaveral.

No Garry, I didn't know know that about the handle material. I'll have to look that up.
Looks like the inscriptions are using the alphabet that we use, still can't make it out.

There are some gorgeous knives in this thread. Congrats to the owners.

I have a couple of Puukkos and at least one Mora. I just gave one of the the Puukkos to my wife to use as a paring knife, she liked the way it fit her hand.
It is razor sharp, so I hope she wasn't planning on gutting me in my sleep. (Not that I don't deserve it) Much like the Opinel, I just can't find any love for the style. Yea, I know that they are good knives, just not for me.

Thank you! I will suggest that, I am sure she will appreciate the tip.

Gutting indoors is to be avoided.

Great tools; I like mine. They would make beautiful Christmas tree decorations.

That's a Finnish beauty. Casein handles probably? The sheaths are really great as well.

Here is one from Norway. A word to describe it is 'Toten,' but I don't really know the fine points of that except I think that it refers to a westerly region in Norway. I think that this one is certifiably antique.
