Q, I hope he is still with us and making knives. I erred in using the past tense. I found no information on Google suggesting his passing.

This is a Leon Treiber From Ingram TX . a Deceased maker made Knives from 1992 to 2010
This is a Lock Back Folder with Handles of OOsic . File work on top of Blade & Back Spring . One of the smooth's opening custom Knives I have .

The last ones were made by people who chose to remain nameless for whatever reason:
The set of three kitchen knives with convex ground blades I purchased at a yard sale for $2.50 for all.
A pair of handmade knives I bought at different times but obviously by the same maker because I thought the wooden sheaths were unique.These may be a bit off-topic but I thought I would toss them in anyway.

Thank you gentlemen, I will post soon after I put some thought into it. The OP of this thread, T.K.C. was named Suzanne Vaugh, she died in late June of 2017, she loved knives and conversing about them.

Excellent Knife

I have had a few T.A.D. knives, still have 3. They all are 'perfect', there is nothing that is not as it should be and with great precision. Plus the blade is always hair-poppin' sharp. If you do not have much experience with custom knives you might be surprised to learn that not every custom comes out exactly & precisely 'right'. However with Todd's knives everyone i have owned is simply 'perfect'.

Nice one, looks similar to Tony Bose's Rodger's Whittler pattern, minus a secondary. Joel does fine work and is a great guy.

I have several knives from John Lloyd, he makes a dang fine knife!

Thanks for your kind words. It is one of my 'best' custom knives. But every custom knife is unique and 'best' in it's own way.
Here is my first custom folding knife.
I was reading in BladeForums in ~ 2009 ?, and came across a just made post by A.G. Russell. He had just returned from a knife show (Eugene OR.,i think) and said he met a new knife maker whose work so impressed him that he wanted give him a 'plug'. Said his name is "Rusty Preston" and he posted Rusty's email address. I emailed Rusty right away and asked him if he might make me a 2 blade Trapper like knife with elk handles. He replied, yes he would start working on it soon. Within 3 days Rusty had been inundated with requests. He went from not having a waiting list to closing down his waiting list after 2 days.
4 1/4" two blade 'Trapper' with elk handles by Rusty Preston. I sometimes carry this knife in a belt sheath and use it.

Glenn, that is a Beautiful John Lloyd trapper. John has got the best handle material available in USA and the stag on your knife is a fine example.

Thanks Colonel. It is a big knife. Too big to be comfortable in a pocket for little old me. But rides perfectly in a sheath and it definitely is a strong, tough knife (154CM steel) well suited for outdoor use.

My favorite maker died of cancer on Oct. 4 2014, at the age of 71. John White, Master Smith, was a very talented guy, made some fantastic knives and canoes. John made a series of bowie's called the Legacy Series, they are unreal, one person now owns them all and they have only been photographed together once. I don't really have any favorites anymore, their are so many talented makers from all over the world, I have been lucky enough to meet many of them and their knives. I really like Charly Bennica's work, talented artist and a true gentleman.

Bruce Bump of Walla Walla Washington is one of the finest knife makers on the planet. He most enjoys making Presentation Bowies and black powder pistol knives. These come in an exquisitely made box and with tools to service or take the pistol knife apart. Bruce also makes the tools. One of these Bowies or pistol knives can take more than 6 months to complete. Check out his website for a real treat.
I tried to get Bruce interested in making folding knives and sent him the "Sheffield Exhibition Knives" book hoping this might pique his interest. If any modern maker could recreate the finest Sheffield exhibition folders it is Bruce Bump.
Bruce made a few folding knives, about 35 i think but said that they did not interest him as much as the larger Bowies and black powder pistol knives.
This 3 3/4" ivory Trapper is the seventh folding knife Bruce made and so is marked "007", which is James Bond neat. Has red liners and is beautiful in it's simplicity.
