All About Pocket Knives

wazu, That looks to be the highest grade of MOP. Beautiful. Congrats!

Here is a 3 5/8" equal end whittler (#99 pattern) with 1095 high carbon blades that will get some occasional pocket time. It has a split backspring and they did a nice job of fitting it together so that there is no blade rub. The blade motion from closed to open and back to closed is not quite as buttery smooth as my Tuna Valley knives. Snap is good and blade pull is comfortable. The etching on the main blade is a little sloppy with some etch "residue" remaining on the blade, otherwise the Overall fit & finish is good.

That is one handsome knife. It reminds me so much of the Canal Street Canitlers I have in my collection. First S&M in that pattern I've seen. I like it!

Thanks Phil. I like Cannitlers too. IMO a Cannitler is a cut above this knife.

I just bought a #376 Swell Center with a Wharncliffe and Spear. It's one of Queen's EDC seconds but it's going to be carried so no big deal.
According to the seller, there's a small crack at the center pin and I hope that's all that's wrong with it.
My perfect knife is a bone handled 3 3/4" equal end, single spring, opposing blades, Wharncliffe and Clip. Nobody makes this pattern but the 376 comes the closest.

Here's one of my favorite S&M knives. A single bade 3 3/8" boy's knife. The workmanship is fantastic on this knife.

S&M Sway Bellys (Pattern # 80) Liking them F&F is great - if I could change anything (?) I wouldn't mind the blade being a bit fuller

Derek, the Sway Belly pattern looks handsome and robust like a blend of Trapper and Saddlehorn. The stag on your knife is especially nice.

(lol) My 'set' of S&M is limited as well. Here is my other modern knife - a lockback whitter. This knife is very well made. Not sure if the "Premier" moniker on the shield or the time frame (2008) or something else entirely might account for it.

My other S&M is an oldie large Coke Bottle.

Ralph - I like that old Cokebottle! How big is that knife? I have one Premier myself; I think that Premier refers to the price!

You're right on re: the Premiere / Price relationship

The old Cokebottle is 5 1/4" closed and the blade is 4 1/4". I like the big Cokebottle pattern and have a few of them - about 1/2 of them Case and the other half miscellaneous (Winchester, Napanoch, NYK, Miller Bros, and this S&M).

I picked this up a few years ago. I only have a handful of Queen S&M knives, this was the first Queen knife I ever purchased,

Its a 1993 Winter bottom Swing Guard, File and Wire.

While scrolling through the thread, I noticed I had forgotten to post this '92 Barlow. I think this was the first S&M I bought. It's from the 1992 Keystone Series. When I got it, I didn't even know there was a Keystone Series. Edit: I just noticed I failed to post my own picture of that white bone 29 after I received it. This is such an elegant knife.

Yeah, Buddy...that is a very elegant knife. Smooth white bone is one of my top 3 favorite handle materials (along with ivory & stag), and your S&M 29 causes a veritable Pavolovian deluge from me for sure Nice presentation.

I sold off most of my modern Schatt & Morgan knives but did keep a few. I just couldn't part with this one for obvious reasons.

I'm surprised Mr. Queen himself got rid of a lot of Queen S&M knives. Can't blame you for keeping that sweet Winterbottom gunstock though.

I keep forgetting this knife is an S&M because of the QUEEN STEEL bolster stamp -- they use the same stamp on a short run (50) stag skate key Barlow which is Queen-branded so I just sorta lump it in with them. My only Keystone Series knife, as I recently discovered -- of course it doesn't actually have a keystone anywhere ON it so...
Yours seems waaaaay redder than mine (or perhaps mine is waaaaay more orange than yours ). The sawcut is different, too.

Yea....I surprised myself too. One day I decided to sell off most of my S&M's to concentrate on older Queens. I kept that Gunstock, a Swing Guard, a boys knife, a keystone single blade jack from 2013 and a new swell center 376 (my EDC).
