I love Robeson's, don't worry Charlie, I will not try any of my 'fix's' to this one
no snap and some wobble to the main blade, but it will cut string and open letters, small blade is broken off at the tang

Here's an A. F. Bannister & Co English jack. Would be near perfect if someone hadn't mangled the master blade.

I assume these pins go through the blades, funny that the blades on this end work good but the main blade on the other end is loose and wobbly
tried to 'gently hammer pins back in, no luck, thought about cutting them off, but that sounds too drastic
just going to leave it for now till I learn more

The knife originally had a bail, that is now missing, this is why the pins are protruding out each side of the bolsters

Here is a kabar and a couple of remingtons.

Here is a Cattaraugus 12839 King Of The Woods to make you cry. One of the rarest with a shield and compass never cleaned, used, or carried. I won't do any thing with it.

One of these days I'll find an old Taylor's Eye Witness in half decent shape...so far these two are all I have come up with...and they both suffer from the same problem.

It's great to see all these older relics fellas. I have a few myself that I will never sell and just have special meanings to me.
The first is a swell center Jack knife from Hartford Cutlery Co. Duluth MN. So pitted that you can't even read anymore on the stamp but after much searching last year, many folks on here were able to help me figure out who the maker was. It has very thick celluloid unusual designed handles, never seen anything like this before. The blades are thick 1095. Still has decent snap on both blade and half stops. The second is an older IKCO was given to me by Dale a couple years ago and while it has some issues, where the pinhead has been broken over the years, it has some beautiful almost Christmas tree like stripes on it, in pink and gold. Hard to pickup the pink color with the camera.

Ok, one more, this is a pretty rare Imperial EO Jack, has a bent shield and some loose blades but the knife just speaks to me because I have never seen another like it. Framed celluloid, not a shell wrap or solid. Being a celluloid nut anyway, I had to have it.

This one I made into a useful tool:It opens knives and watch cases and scrapes rust.I think it was a contract knife as it has the circle stamp on the master blade and the straight line stamp on the pen.

Not an easy open but the same style of frame.Has to be a rare one as yours is only the second one I've seen.

Thanks for showing that one k7k! And yours is the only other framed cell I've seen, that's too cool! Who made yours? Since the stamp on mine says PAT APLD FOR, I'm assuming that not many were made and the cheaper shells took over, over time.

No it doesn't;just says Imperial Stainless on both blades.

Thank you k7k! My guess is that these were produced slightly before the shells were. If anyone has any other information on this I would love to hear about it.

If I recall, those scale/handles were a Robeson patent. The one with the rough black covers is a Robeson #628235, (my photo is titled incorrectly), and just has "Pat. App. For" The other is a Pine Knot and has no other markings. B.L. featured knives with these handles in knife World about 2 years ago.

I have really enjoyed looking at all these well used knives. Here is what I think is a Northfield . The tang is

badly wore. I have had it for a number of years and have no idea where I got it. The blades have been

sharpened so much the nail nick drops below the liner on master, has great snaps though.

Shown this one on another thread but I'll put it in here just because of the extremely pitted but still functioning blades.
Shapleigh D&E in butter + molasses handles. Once I cleaned all the rust off the handles, bolsters and blades then sharpened it up, it's now a handy little Jack that I carry a lot. You can barely make out the tang stamp on the main clip when enlarging the pic but it's there!
