Well Jack you have to get up early to beat old Monk...

On the 23's genuine stag the two linerlocks are 08's...one with swedge and one without.
The 07 is a slip and has a swedge, I have not seen one without.
On the burnt stag's both my 08 and 09 are swedged, but the 09 is a little bit longer.
Another odd feature is the blade on the 08 has a satin finish insted of the polished.

I have seen the same on the 73 pattern knives...two 73's I have were made only a month apart and have differnt swedge cut's.
The only difference is one is numbered and one isn't...I have yet to figure it out.

To answer your question as to why...I don't have a clue, except to change a few things to keep us collector's on our toes !
I'd like to meet up with GEC at a show sometime and hear what they say about this.

Here's two side by side; another difference I noticed is the stamp. No. 21 has the smaller stamp. The numbers in tape are stock #'s for a rather ponderous tracking system I created on Excel. They are the same as the serial no. I am phasing the system out or not currently keeping up. The blades and bolsters are cloudy with rust prevent.

MMmmmm Ginnnuuuiiinnne Stag. One day I'll have some ginuine stag! All I got is this ol burnt stuff. Got this trapper today.

That's a nice one Paul...so far all the Cuban's I've seen have some very nice stag on them...they must of used up their supply, maybe the reason they only made 9 Courthouse Whittlers.

Gunstock , That knife really did it for me. The first time I saw it I new I had to get some of that ! That one is unbelievable. you had to have done a back flip when you unwrapped that one.

Thanks Monk ! I'm thinkin about carrying one but my other edc's are beggin me not too ! Their being so good I hat to do them like that .they are afraid I wont ever carry them agian once I carry one of the GEC .There is a little rumormongering going on that i might put them on Ebay so I can afford more GECs. They better not piss me off is all I have to say about that ! I know I'm crazy.
