Thanks Dale. The way I understand it, either kingston made a hawkbill for John Primble (lie the one pictured, only with primble tang) or it's the other way around

I think Ulster/Kingston/Schrade made the Primbles.

Here's an old ka-bar I picked up with rosewood handles. It needs a lil TLC.

It has been a bit quiet in here lately. I thought I would add some ones I have picked up recently.

Upon further checking I see the Schrade 136 was listed in the Open Stock knives until 1983 as an electrician's hawkbill.
If Charlie's observation about the electrician & utility hawkbill tips being less pointed is right, then the Schrade Walden 136 is in better condition than I had originally thought. The S-W stamp would likely date it to 1973 or before.

Hey, what do you want for that ulster? I don't have one of those yet, and they are one of my favorite brands. I've got a whole bunch of TL's (you seen the scan in the TL thread)

I don't know Kaleb......I think it is the only Ulster Hawk I have. I will have to look & see if I have another. I have 30 or so Ulsters & I think that is my only Ulster Hawk.

Now, if you can find some TL-29's that I don't have...........then we can talk.

I was cleaning up some knives that had grown into a pile on my desk. It was then I realized I had several variations of TL-29's with Hawkbill blades. Here are four.

The M Klein & Sons & the Electric Mate are three bladed patterns, though I didn't open the screwdriver blades.
The Electric Mate is made by Providence Cutlery Co. and has the unusual sheepsfoot, which is a fairly uncommon blade to be in a TL-29. But I have a thing for sheepfoot blades & Wharncliffe blades.

I found the other Ulster on my list & also nice full Kutmaster.

Kaleb, get to looking for some odd ball or rare TL-29's. We can swap some for an Ulster Hawk.

That looks just like my kingston, only with a bail. OK that's it, I've gotta find some TL-29's. I've got a mint camillus, never carried used or sharpened, sure you can't add that one to your collection?

I have a couple Cammie's still in the wrapper, unopened. Those are the easiest to get.

Here's two new ones to me that I needed for my collection. A Schrade Cut Co. Round butt and a Keen Kutter model 803 (Schrade made) square Butt. Two more I can mark off my ever growing list.

I just got a Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett hawk a couple days ago. It has real pretty wood, but some heavy pitting in the blade. I am waiting for another to arrive & will post pics. I also need to do some cleanup on the HS&B to really appreciate the beautiful rose wood handle.

I think I got the email, is that the one with the serrated one? I would be interested in it, but he needs a couple buddies to go with him for the Ulster.

Here is the HS&B I promised, plus three more I got in the mail today. Mailman was good to me today!

There is a Kutmaster that was super rusty, I cleaned it a bit. This is my second Kutmaster Hawk.

I got another from the same guy who said he couldn't find a name on it. I thought it looked like my jigged Ulster. When I got it I took a rust eraser to the tang........Vola! Dunlap, & unless I miss my bet, it was made by Ulster. I will post the pic of the Ulster again for comparison.

The third Hawk in the mail today was a Holeb hawk version of a TL-29. I have one, but this one has a much fuller blade.

MM- keep looking for unusual TLs & we can work out a trade.

I think we have some serious DNA matching going on here Dale, and Kaleb. Thursday's mail brought me this Kingston Hawk; look familiar??
