Beautiful Bokers, Tongueriver, but as usual they've gone OTT on the blade etching IMO. These are the first double lock-backs I've seen.

Looks like it's a good thang Philco started a lockerback thread.
Real nice variety posted so far.
Most of mine are Schrade variants, do have one Titusville
Oil & Steel Commem Queenie to throw into the mix.
6OT is a fleamart find, probably the nicest $5 knife I own.
Rick Garcia was kind enough to make me a holster for it since it came w/o a box.



According to some sellers on Eekbay, here's a rare scarce lockback
that bidders should grab quick before they're all gone.

I'm more of an accumulator than a collector, and most knives I have get some use.

My navajas, made by Exposito, are good, not his top of the line and maybe a bit rough in the finish department but well built.

They feel strong enough, with solid bolsters and good springs. they are held close just by friction but lock when open, there is a small piece of wood inside for the edge of the blade to rest on. I have to say that I've never given them hard use.

The one with white plastic scales is the least expensive and gets the most use, the smaller one gets some pocket carry.

I like the looks of them, but I wonder how sturdy they are.

I bring this up again after taking a better look at how my navajas are constructed.

In the two better ones: each side, bolsters and liner, are a single piece of brass, held together in the front bolster by the pivot pin that goes through the blade tang, the rear bolsters are held by a pin that goes through the liners and a brass spacer. The pin that holds the external spring holds the handle covers and also goes through the liners and a brass spacer.

In the two other ones: the bolsters are hollow, it looks like the blade is between two steel liners with the bolsters and handle covers pinned over, the rear bolster seems like a single piece folded over to cover both liners and a small spacer, pinned and with a little metal disk welded on the very tip. The center pin that holds the external spring goes through the handle covers, the liners and a wood spacer.

Either way they feel as strong as other traditional folders.

Johnny, that is a NICE old early 110. About the same age as the one I wagged in in SE Asia, and still carry today.




They do have some great steel in 'em, 440C if I recall correctly.

Here are an LB1, a 50T (broken tip modded to sheepsfoot) and LB7 from late 70's


A Boker Lady Damascus and Case 059L (great blade in crappy body)
