I've dealt with him.....once.

If questioned about his grading, he'd probably reply that he couldn't see the missing parts........with 10X magnification !

Not a good person to deal with. Just read some of his old feedback. I was told he is a knife mechanic. From what I have seen most of his stuff has been repaired or cobbled together

That seller's name is Albrecht, or something like that. He lives in CT. I used to get a mail list from him years ago. He seemed, at the time, to have had some interesting knives.

After I started buying on Ebay, he sent me a plastic handled EO once that was not the knife he pictured on Ebay, and his description plainly said, "bone". We went round and round about it. At first he suggested I didn't know what I was talking about, but relented when he figured I wasn't a newbie.

I recall once someone posted negative feedback for him over some issue. His response started with these words, "THESE PEOPLE ARE SCUM!"

I never forgot that.

I do not look at his auctions unless I think the knife itself might prove informative.

His Ebay descriptions are concise, but his rules and requirements voluminous.

I'm sure some of you know him. Maybe he's a better person than my previous impressions suggest.

Then, again; maybe not.

Snagged this old Crucible Scout off ebay last weekend for 9.99. Been used but never sharpened that I can tell. Old scales have shrunk and cracked a bit but it still as tight as the day it was made.

Resident scout knife Guru, Philco, dated it to the late 20's.

Well? I didn't INTEND to catch the SCOUT KNIFE BUG, but I think it caught me.....

Those are some GORGEOUS knives Mr D!!

I have the bug and have had it for a while. To be honest Wullie and M.B. I'm feeling a little over those beauties you have rounded up. Nice finds by both of you.

Next is a Reproduction of the Remington RS3333 released this year. It was made by Bear & Sons.

That NYK scout is very nice


I have some old name brand unofficial scout knives with this extra long bail. They are not common to find, especially in good condition, they are usually all bent up, or broken.

I watched Philco buy that old NY knife with the upside down shield. It is a beauty. It's been around and shows its' class VERY nicely.

Here'a an Ulster USA five blade official scout with simulated ivory handles.

Here is a single blade by Camillus. Has "Adventurer" and B S A etched faintly on the blade.

I just received this really nice Miller Bros. scout. I was wondering if anyone knows what the circular notch in the bottle opener blade is for. Thanx, Otto

I had been looking for a scout knife for a while. My uncle had a USA utility knife, probably built by Camillus during WWII. It has amber bone handles, and the old school punch and push can opener blade, which of course had been broken off. The rear scale has a large piece broken off. The knife had been living in the bottom of my uncle's fishing tackle box (translation: old wooden fruit crate filled with rust coffee cans full of lures, line, pliers, mud, and generations of wet and humidity from countless fishing trips). Needless to say it is pretty rough looking.

So the other day I browse into my favorite pawn shop, and lo and behold, they have a VERY nice Ulster Boy Scout knife, virtually brand new, with just a few wear scratches here and there on the main blade and the sawcut Delrin handles. WOW! I whipped out the old checkbook in a hurry, reminded myself that good traders like to haggle a little, and then got the Scout knife and a beautiful little Imperial jack at a great price! Whooeee for me!

And it looks great next to my collection of Scrhade Old Timers!

No pictures because I have no camera. But I will soon! It looks exactly like the Ulster with faux ivory handles that Philco posted above, except the words "CAN OPENER" are stamped on the can opener, and it has a bail loop. And of course the brown, sawcut Delrin handles.

Hey M.B. Only the main blade and the punch are stamped. "Miller Bros. USA"

Not official and in fact I know next to nothing about it except it has Hammer Brand stamp:


Not official and was my Grandpa's Case with a stamp no newer than 1940:


Both have lovely main blades, and I carry the Hammer EDC.
