Tom, they are whitetail...much smaller than mule deer. We don't have any mule around our area...but I think west Texas does, in the Big Bend hill area.

Absolutely amazing what the mind will do when it's left open to creation and invention.

Scott, the pictures of your missions take me back to my youth when my cousin's and I ran wild in the woods & fields of Granddad's farm in Southern Illinois. Those were the good times. You're building memories that someday in the far future will warm an old man's heart. "Remember when........?" Bless you brother.

One of the great things about the formerly great city of Chicago is that it is ringed by extensive forest preserves. Spent many days in those woods as a kid. Your photos of the boys bring me back to those days Scott. Thank you.

The reason I keep a rifle in the cab of the tractor. I’m hoping this is the one that has been harassing my chickens!

Coyotes are peculiar critters. Most of the time a man on foot scares them off, as fast as they can go. Occasionally though they’re curious and will watch you. But a man on horseback, or a man on a tractor doesn’t scare them. They’ll usually just go about their business and pay you no attention. Pretty easy shot if you stay in or on the tractor. If they see you get out of the cab they’re gone before you can get the rifle to your shoulder!
