Picked up this old Camillus today on the cheap from the local Bottomfeeder Bargain Basket.

It is a good stop. Only get there every couple of weeks. I am always happy to find old US made stuff not covered in rust.

I think this knife has some age on it. Were the Brits thinking about boys knives back in the day? Or is that a Yankee concoction?

FRJ there is something warm and rich and mature about those stocks. Comfortable to hold.

Oh boy Joe, that's a dandy Rodgers right there! I always enjoy those blade etches and squared-off kicks. Of course, that worn bone is pretty awesome as well.

Very nice little knife, Joe! Certainly appears to be fairly old (early 1900s?), with the square kick and the clean and square joint. Beautiful bone color as well.

This was a gift from a friend who's dad, Don, took it on himself to step in and help fill the void in my life after my dad, also named Don, died of cancer. Don's wife is selling her home and needs some work done so I stopped by to see what I needed to bring next week to ready the house and the son handed me this knife as a thank you gift for being a good friend to his dad. Don got the knife at an auction years ago and asked me to clean it up a little for him and I have and admired it for years but never mentioned actually wanting it. I figured it would go to one of Don's grandsons some day. Don died about 5 years ago and left a void nearly as wide as my dad did. I'm thrilled to have it as a keepsake of someone who was an unbelievably good roll model to me. It's a Simmons Keen Kutter English Jack. It will be stored in my safe in a drawer next to my Dad's hunting knife.____Dave

Dave your English jack is a real beauty and the fact that it belonged to a positive role model in your life just increased the value to priceless. Hope you enjoy it for the rest of your life

Evidently you must of been very special to Don for his son to know that you liked the knife. Glad for the both of you.
