Got in a couple of Seki made knives. The first is an A.G. Russell bolster lock with cocobolo wooden scales.
The second one is a brand I have been watching and curious about called Katz. This is a stockman with amber carved stag bone that looks very nice. The blade says it’s XT-80, which I looked up and it compares to 440c stainless. It’s nice and tight with good snap and fit and finish. I like the pinched and fluted bolsters. My only criticism is the blade grind on the sheeps foot blade is a bit uneven, which I have never seen on a modern Seki made knife. I have been trying to figure out which company in Japan is making these. After handling it, I don’t think these are made by Moki, it’s below their standard. I was hoping this would compare to the Fallkniven slip joints that Moki makes, but these aren’t in the same ballpark, but then again the price is nothing compared to Fallkniven.

Mark, that AG is a beauty ... your second pic really shows how elegant and nice that bolster lock looks!

I had heard of Katz, but didn't look into them too much. After you posted this one, I briefly did a little digging. Their new ones have the Japan look, but different from the 80s, more like modern knives. Looks like I have another brand to ponder....

Thanks Tony. I’ve read mixed things about Katz knives so I wanted to see for myself. For the money, they are a good knife, but I don’t expect them to be chased by many collectors. I could be wrong, the old Parker knives made in Japan back in the 70’s, 80’s seem to be appreciating from where they were 10 years ago, so who knows?

Bought another Master Seizo Imai knife for the collection. This one was completed after his passing in 2014 from finished blades that he had done for the Singapore military. This one has red Sandalwood handles. Master Fumio Inagaki finished these in his shop.
Also included a picture of my fixed blade Mr Imai collection. Some of the knives I am proudest to own.

Some true beauties you showed us today, Mark, I'm glad I don't have to choose just one, but if I did, it would likely be your smallest fixed blade with the white covers, mind you, the dual burnt black/orange handle a couple below it is also very attractive, then there's the knife with the solid black handle, followed closely by.....see what I mean. I know you limit your fixed blade collection to pieces you REALLY like due to all the space they require to display/store, so these must be awfully special to you.
The 2 folders you posted are also top-notch, and choosing one of those is easy, it's your AGR with the single blade, of course.
I have a couple of Katz folders, and they're definitely solid well made knives, but certainly no where near Moki standards, next time I do some housekeeping I'll post pictures. I'd say your assessment of Parker era quality is very close if not spot-on.
Nice treat for us to start the weekend with, thanks a bunch.

That small one with the elephant ivory handle is a pretty special to me Mark. Damascus stainless steel blade, a Bob Loveless design called a “city knife” and very balanced. Even the bolsters are stainless Damascus. This was one of the first Mr Imai knives I purchased after his passing. Glad I got them when I did. I have never seen any of these come up for sale anywhere since I purchased them. Not sure what price I could ever ask for them if I ever decided to sell them, which I have no plans for doing. These are some that would be the absolute last ones I would let go of unless someone made me an insane offer for them.
I really enjoy getting these out and handling them and admiring them, probably get more pleasure from these knives than I do most in my collection.

I definitely see the Loveless influence in your knife, Mark, and they do show up occasionally at Arizona C.K., but quite costly.
I love your enthusiasm about your knives, this hobby has jogging beat along with many others, that's for sure.

I'm particularly fond of the mid-lock, and that's because I bought my copy from Mark a couple years ago, and it continues to be one of the highlights of my accumulation.
Now that I've seen your Samson I'm liking it more each time I see it...uh-oh.

Thanks Mark ... every time I order from him, I am pleasantly surprised. His photos are whited out, so I don't buy based on the photos.
I buy based on his description of a knife's condition, which is always accurate, but not over the top. Most times they are better than described.
As a comparison, your listings have nice color photos, and with accurate descriptions also. But, I can better see exactly what I am buying from you.

I have had consistently trouble free transactions with both Mark and Jacob, and I can happily report any and all the knives I've purchase from them, grace my accumulation to this day.
I was just viewing an unusual but really cool Al Mar dagger at ACKnives.com but I didn't think to copy the SKU: number, although you can view it in today's "Recently Added", $995. but very cool. It looks like a long version of their "Fang" dagger, and measures almost 10". At least I liked it.

Purchasing from Mark, Jacob, and many other AAPK members I purchased knives from has been a great buying experience.
$995 is out of my ball park, but beauties like that sure are nice to look at!

Updated photo of all three of the recent Seizo Imai fixed blades finished by Mr Inagaki. Added the other two handle materials Jacaranda wood and Ebony. The first one has red sandalwood. Beautifully tapered full tang construction. Top notch work on a top notch knife. Couldn’t believe how inexpensive these were. I would have guessed twice the price that Jacob asked for them.
