To me the shortness is partially in the way they ground down the rear bolster. It's definitely not concentric going to the bottom. I was also set back on their choice of blades, Especially the smaller clip blade. It is also a lot thicker with thicker back springs. But I mainly posted it just for critique from you guys.

Papa Bones wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:37 pm I'm gonna post this under the "Is It?" category. I Found this last week and believe it could be a "72 Clone" depending on how accurate you want to be in length. According to my measurements it is just a Hair over 1/16th inch shorter than the Camillus 72 and most other clones. It is also a little wider. It is an Imperial Schrade Imp24 swell center whittler with Cracked Ice handles.

Papa Bones wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 11:22 pm I added these to my Camillus 72 Clones group over the last 12 days. All are a variation I did not have.

First, a Camillus 1047 BSA Swell Center Whittler with the Round BSA Shield, & Delrin handles. It has the Camillus long line tang stamp.

Next Is a Remington R14W with the multi-colored wood handles. It has the round Remington Shield, Round Remington Made In USA tang stamp, and Remington etch on the main blade. It came in the original box, with paperwork and was in the original plastic sleeve.

Last Is A Remington RE18293 Swell Center Whittler With Black handles. It has the oval Remington Shield, with cursive "Remington USA" tang stamp. It does not have a blade etch and the model is not stamped on any of the other blades. This one came in the original plastic sleeve with the tag with barcode and model number on the sleeve. The seller didn't have the original box, but did include a newer green Remington box.
Great looking knives Smitty! ::tu:: I like all three of em but especially the scout! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

Thanks Tom. Yeah, I am kinda fond of the Boy Scout 1047's myself. This was the first Longline Camillus Stamp with this style handles I've picked up. I have the White handle round shield in this tang stamp, I also have the the same knife in the later 1989 era Tang stamp. I'm not positive if Camillus may have kept the Long Pull Match Strike nail nick on all the 1047's and model 72's or not?

Yep. Kept that Long Pull Match Strike nail nick on the 72's and 1047's from the first ones in '46 until the last dog died and they quit business Feb. 28, 2007.
(for all the nit pickers, I don't think they made a 1047 until later in 1he '40s)

Added this one to my Camillus 72 Clones group along with my Craftsman collection. A Craftsman 9494 with the stamped oval Craftsman Shield. It has the brown delrin handles and "Craftsman USA 9494" Tang stamp. All blades are tight with no wobble and have great snap. The blades have the original luster, but do have spotting & staining with small scratches. So far all I've done is oil the joints and wipe the blades down. I may do some light cleaning, oil soak, and pencil lead on the spots on the blade. I am very pleased to find this one, I haven't seen many of the Craftsman 9494 up for auction and zero around my area at trade days.

Today I add this CAMILLUS 72 variation to my collection. It's a CAMILLUS 22LR6, Rimfire Classic, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knife. It required no cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.

It is good to be lucky. I have the knife already but just no opportunity to take some pictures. Maybe tomorrow. Once before I got lucky cause you had a power outage. I hope you don't figure out that I have a little doll named Skip with a bunch of push pins handy. Thanks for your congratulations and I value your friendship.  ::nod:: ::nod:: ::handshake::
