Hi Squatch .... can you tell me the model number of that white RR canoe with the faux abalone inlay ? I like that one alot ! THx
I'm not Sure John. There is no model number stamped on the knife and I don't have the box. However the seller used the number "RR 059" in listing the knife on ebay but I don't know if that is the model number or not.

A couple of Ol' Yellers by Case! Very nice indeed! ::tu::

One of my favorite EDCs is an Ol' Yeller Case canoe. Very pocket friendly.

Thank you sir.
I just need to add a yeller Peanut. Then I'll have the patterns I like.

Napalmsloth, don't call me sir...I work for a living! ::rotflol:: Once an NCO always an NCO! I was at a hospital on post one day and held the door open for the people behind me as they were coming in. One of them was a full bird colonel and as he passed me he said "thank you sir". Before I could stop myself my mouth dropped that phrase.....if looks could kill... ::facepalm::

Anyway, back on subject. I have a friend who carries a Case Ol' Yeller trapper and nothing else...even in hunting camp. I've been thinking about getting one and maybe one of the yeller tribal locks. I don't know what it is about the yellow Delrin handles but I find them very attractive and no one does yellow Delrin like Case. ::tu::

Charlie, those of us never in the military have a whole different concept of sir. And those of us raise in the south grew up using Sir as a show of respect. Funny how our experiences and culture influence us. And by the way, I like those yeller handled knives as well. ::tu:: ::tu::

No, I understand the respect, don't get me wrong. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. The whole thing stems from and old military joke about how the NCOs do all of the work while officers enjoy a much more leisurely existence. It's not true of course but we had a lot of fun with it. ::super_happy::

I finally perused this entire thread today. Very impressive. I had no idea there were this many canoe patterned knives out there.

I've never seen one, but I've been told by someone who claims to own one, that Robeson made a canoe the same size as Case's "Gunboat" back in the thirties. He's promised to bring it to the Lexington knife show next year. We shall see.

Back in the late 80's, I collected 1970 Ten Dot Case knives. Here's a photo of the bone handled canoe I had. Not a good photo. I sold all the Ten Dots to Jim Sargent in the early 90's and concentrated my efforts on Robesons.

Yeah, I agree. When I became an NCO (a long time ago), I used the same line. Lol. But, I was raised in the south, and learned manners at a very young age.

Cheers!!

If you go any farther south than where I was raised......you're in Mexico! Not only was I an NCO way back when, I was raised by an NCO and my Granddad was an NCO before my Dad! So the mentality runs deep and military courtesy was the order of the day. I'm glad you understand. For a moment there I was worried that I might have offended you....like I did with that colonel at the Army Hospital. My humor gets me in trouble occasionally.

With Veterans Day having just passed I don't want to forget to thank you for your service. ::tu::

I sincerely appreciate that. My military era wasn't very popular and the guys coming home from the jungle weren't met with much gratitude for their sacrifice and service. I'm glad to see that the soldiers of today are being recognized for their contributions. Some things do change for the better. ::super_happy::

Thanks NS. We seem to be in the company of a few vets here. That's what you call good company! ::tu::

I have a newbie coming next week but in the meantime...

I have one of these in mint condition in my collection but this is the one that gets pocket time. One of my favorite EDCs. I've posted it on the "What are you carrying" thread and on the "Knife photography" thread but I don't think I've posted it here before.

Charlie, What is that handle material? It looks smooth like synthetic, but the color is one I have not seen. Mint green?

It's yellow Delrin. The color didn't come across in the photo as well as I would have liked. I used indoor lighting and I think that because the light has a slightly yellow tint it caused the yellow of the handle to appear less yellow. I need to get a couple of "bright white" bulbs for the lamp in my den. Case does have a mint green Canoe in production though but it's a bone handle. Below is a pic of one...

Man, you got me drooling. So, I’m headed to Spurger, Tx tomorrow to check out the largest selection of Case knives in this area.

I guess I’ll need to bring my credit card.

Careful now NS! Takin' a credit card to a knife dealer like that is is like takin' a pork chop to a dog pound. Every knife there is gonna' want a piece of your plastic pork chop! ::rotflol:: If you're like me, anywhere they sell knives, guns, or tools I should be closely supervised by a certified miser!

It’s been a great day. The wife and I went to TKC in Spurger. OMG!! I love that place. I ended up buying 4 knives. One for my grandson, one for my stepson, one for my son-in-law, and one for me.

For my grandson, I got him the amber bone peanut. My son in law got the blue medium stockman, and my stepson got the worn amber trapper. I, of course, got the blue canoe.

Cheers.

I know some fellers that are going to be very pleased with those gifts. Good choices. ::nod:: ::tu::
