I have been a Remington Collector for years. I have this question about the Remington Bullet Knife. About a year ago Bear told me that they had parted ways with Remington and the 2017 Bullet Knife would the last they would make. I have been told that Remington will get Buck Knife to make 2018 Bullet Knife. Has anyone heard this or is Remington dropping this line????? That is my question.

I spoke with a lady a Remington last week. Remington has no cutlery division and now Buck has the rights to the name and can produce any knives they desire and put a Remington stamp on it. There are some people here who are tight with Buck but i haven't heard what Bucks plan is for the Remington line. It would be nice to know. My impression was that Buck out bid Bear and Sons to be able to produce them. Just my impression.

Even being used. Pretty cool knife Roger. That might be the first 1173 to be posted on aapk. I'm glad I got to see it in person. First one I've ever held.

Does anyone collect Remington knives anymore? At one time they were as collectible as Case, if not more so. There are a lot of collectors on AAPK, yet very few knives posted to this forum.

This is certainly puzzling :?

I have some and will post them as soon as I can. I don`t have many though.

Anyone else have some nice old remington knives? Let`s see them! ::tu::

I have had this 2½" R7713 for many years but only noticed the two different Remington blade stamps recently while preparing to post it here on aapk. The knife is in excellent shape, strong spring and snap. Beautiful brown bone with no damage. No blade sharpening marks.
My question is: Why two different date stamps?
(1) The pen blade is marked: REMINGTON Straight Line marked inside circle only, with a broken line under the g: Remington. c 1935-1940
(2) The File blade is marked: REMINGTON UMC Marked inside circle only which would date this at c 1921-1924.
So, we have the first used Remington dating stamp 1921-1924 to the last Remington dating stamp 1935-1940.
I have only seen this stamp differentiation on a couple other listed Remington's and the aarp members explanation would be that one of the blades would have been changed.
Though I have never repaired a knife, I see no sign of blade replacement or pin work, and certainly not a knife that would be tampered with to increase value.
Hoping one of you Remington pros will explain.
