I bought this Camillus TL-29 yesterday, identified in the General Forum as mid- 50's to early 1960's GI issue. Still snaps like new and took a very quick edge. TJ mentioned how tough they are built and I have to agree - built like a milspec item for sure. OH

dogg -- Same size as a 14. That's a '70s - '80s tang stamp and the posted image came out of a 1977 Camillus catalog.

This one just came today, took a few quick shots before I start any cleaning. Syracuse Knife Co. 3" jack. A little taste of the Salt City.

Monday I grabbed this short line 72 with bone handles along with a 3-1/2" Kutmaster jack with Celluloid handles. $12.75 shipped. Did I happen to mention the 72 is a short line bone handle with 2nd gen blades?

Seller said the blades are a little lazy on both of them. I'm hoping a trip through the Sonic cleaner and a little slippery juice will help that some.
Sellers picture.
Tuesday (last night) I grabbed this early 1047 Scout with black synthetic (but only slight shrinkage) handles and a saber ground on both sides main blade. As you can see from the sellers picture, it appears to be in excellent condition for it's age. Seller said the 1.5 gen blades have very good snap.

Dave -- I think that's what some folks are now calling an HOK (Honest Old Knife). It looks to me like it has a lot of life left in it. You're lucky to have it.

Rich -- Does the tang stamp look like any of these? (As always, click on the picture, then click on it again to get it to full size.)

Rich,
The blade is right as rain for the handle.
That is a small rope knife. You will also find a lot of them with the M. KLEIN tang stamp.
M. Klein is tool company out of Chicago. Camillus made electrician’s knives for Klein and probably that rope knife pattern as well. I have a small cigar box of those small rope knives, most stamped Camillus or M. Klein.

Utica also made some for Klein but not with wood handles that I know of. I could be wrong of course. (about the wood handles that is)

Thanks Jerry the tang stamp is 1960-1976.
Thanks Orvet the easy open notch doesn't line up with the nail pull on the blade that's why I didn't think it was right maybe did it that way so you can open it with gloves on?
It's a nice little knife and I'm happy to have it. Have to see if I can find a bail for it.

Make one. They're pretty simple.
