Here is my old Case XX stockman.

I wanted to ask you guys that take large numbers of knife pictures, how do you store them long term? I had transferred a big bunch of knife pictures from my cameras SD cards to a Maxell 8GB USB drive. Yesterday when I put the USB drive into the laptop and clicked on the USB to retrieve some photos, a box popped up that told me that the drive had corrupted files on it, and click here to fix. In stead of showing the numbers of the photos, there were a bunch of gibberish figures (not English characters or numbers) When I clicked to fix it, another box popped up and said I needed to format the USB drive, which will obviously erase all of my pictures. Most of them I could easily retake, but there are a bunch of pictures of knife rebuilding and before and after pictures that cannot be retaken. What the heck happened here anyway? Bad idea to store pictures on USB, or should I have used DVDs?

Olde Cuttler, I keep a couple flash drives for back up. I take pics on my phone, send them to my computer, store them, back them up with two flash drives. This way if the computer or a flash drive gets corrupted, they are still available. IMHO.

Ivoryman, those Sakai knives are developing a siren song about them to me. That is a gorgeous knife. Made in Japan has come to have a different meaning to me than it did in my youth. Great knife.

Know what you mean doglegg. And they were. But I don't have to tell you about Honda, Nikon, Shimano, Sony, Toyota, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Kubota, etc. Seki with it's Moki and G. Sakai is right up there with them, excellent engineering, manufacturing, production etc. Fine products. The G. Sakai is one of my faves, with the Moki Kronos, and can't imagine ever selling them. They were half the price or less of a Tony Bose collab and to me, IMHO, just as good in the function department, better in the fit and finish. Top notch. I've had William Henry and customs and I have to say I like my Moki and G. Sakai as good or better for HALF the price. This knife is so thin in the pocket, yet good grip, superb lock up, great action, and I love this blade profile like I can't tell you and don't see it on other makers. If I find a Drop Point like this, I buy it. They are that good. And even though I paid thirty bucks more than my Kronos, it's just as good of a knife and worth it. No regrets, zero buyers remorse, one of the all time favorites for me. Almost forget it's in the pocket, always gets looks, super fine to use and zero complaints. Thin flat grind on it is fabulous. Get one if you can, they are rare, I only saw 2 in red up for sale on the dealers site a year or two ago. Once in a while I see a wood or pearl, but the red bone is rare. Thanks again for the compliments, but really, for your own satisfaction, try one. I sold off my Queens, Schatt Morgan, and modern Case, and a few others so I could horse trade for a Moki, a G. Sakai, a Britton, a Bose. Best move I ever made because I still have plenty run of the mill production knives and they are fine, but they are not fabulous and not like this. So glad I grabbed it when I had the chance. And just as I write this, I checked feebay, guess what they have one but they are asking $30 more than I paid last year. Word's getting out.
