I picked up this boxed set today at one of the local antique malls that were having 20% off for Black Friday, and FREE lunch too!! Made by Schrade in 1985, tang stamped New York Knife. Number on box and on knife match, with papers. Into my Scout/camper collection it goes!!

He also had some Case and Remington Bullet knives that other customers were buying, and the prices on those were SKY HIGH!! So I went with the obvious. (FYI the free lunch was ham and cheese sandwiches, donuts, coffee and apple juice.)

Picked these up at a junk shop yesterday. No great old treasured high end knives but a couple rare names and a couple great users. The little 3 blade is a Ultra-Blade 3 spring that looks like it was made by Schrade, The celluloid is a Keen-Blade. I looked it up on line and they sent me back to a 2007 post on AAPK. It's probably made eons age by Imperial. The Buck 110 is a 2013. The other two are a Schrade 250T and a German pearl, but you probably knew that. All have full blades and all were grimy and gritty and gave me several enjoying hours of rust removal and hand cleaning and all now snap nicely, even the little pearl. ___Dave

Blades are full half stops with strong snap each way and crack free bone handles not bad for 8.00

You found a gem in a cowpie, IMO. I love that aspect of the construction of these early-20th pen knives. Big, thick snaps and strong half-stops, often on both blades. I have jacks and Barlows with two backsprings each thicker than the single-spring pen springs and yet the 100ish-year-old pen knives outsnap and outstop the jacks.

You guys have way, way better flea markets and swaps than we do.

Picked this up at an estate sale today....looks civil war era doesn't it? Any info would be cool....can't see any markings.

Scott: An interesting piece. Hope someone comes along with some information. My first thought is that it looks like kitchen cutlery. Maybe to slice pies, or bread.

Found these three reference books at a local antique shop today for $5 apiece.1979-1981-2003. Couldn't pass them up.

Out in the 100year + post and beam barn in a hollow where a beam use to be my son found a Hammer Brand stockman knife.We are going to research it just for family history

That's pretty cool! Was the barn part of your family or some other family?
A little oil and a few strokes on a whet rock, that one would be ready for EDC duty. (just ignore the shrink-dink handles )

Yes i agree but this Imperial Hammer Brand knife is from before Imperial & Schrade were under Albert Baer's ownership i think. Anyone know when Imperial became part of Baer's empire ?

I think hammer brand was made by imperial for a short time post war before hammer brand was dropped entirely.
