Here are a couple minimalist Wharnies from the archive because I was on a minimalist kick today

And here are some wood handled Wharnies that I've shown previously but showing again to complement the wood handle theme that seems to be predominant today

Indeed I do, Tony And I gotta say, that RRR Hedgehog still looks brand new despite the many hours of use I believe it has seen in your upholstery shop. Curious if you find yourself using one blade more than the other? And how well does it hold an edge? Have you had to sharpen it at all (and if so, how difficult is the D2 steel to sharpen)? Inquiring minds want to know

I have enjoyed using this knife 'Q' ... using the slim clip blade tip mostly to cut seams apart to make patterns. It has been sharpened or touched up several times. The D2 holds an edge well and not difficult to sharpen. Many say D2 is hard to sharpen, but I have not had any difficulty. The wharncliffe blade has not been used much. Perhaps I should try it out o the seams. Don't know why they discontinued this pattern.

I am trying to decide if I like that knife. Wharncliffe frame: yes, Wharncliffe blade: yes, Cool etch: yes, Ivory handles: yes, Whittler: yes. Okay, it does appeal to me!

My knife for today is a Case Classic that I posted a few months back. It was a gassing Celluloid. Now it has new handles by Reverand!

Like clockwork another Wednesday rolls around which means just one thing and one thing only.....it's time for Wharncliffe Wednesday

This Case Chestnut Bone Swayback Gent is my newest Wharncliffe and the only 117 in my collection with a Chrome Vanadium blade. As such, I imagine it would develop a nice patina if I were to carry and use it; but alas, like all my 117s, it is destined to remain a safe queen

A thin coat of Vaseline will repel the insidious humid salty Hawaiian ocean air and keep the CV blade nice and shiny in storage.

Some beautiful knives to kick off Wharncliffe Wednesday Q and CC!!

Here's my meager contribution today. A Browning Steambank Wharncliffe, 3 1/2" closed with a 2 5/8" 420 SS blade, and canvas micarta handles. Once again I am impressed with the quality of a knife made in China. Just a note, this knife also arrived wicked sharp.

Nice Wharnie Weds fellas ! I like your recovery Mel - always nice to bring one back ... I have a similar Parker that I got for a song with a tipped blade and managed to find something akin to a wharncliffe inside it - turned into a very thin & handy knife.

Hey Mel - I knew I had a peanut somewhere that underwent the same recovery process as yours ... never ceases to amaze me how many tipped blades we see in the wild where people insist on using nice knives as pry bars

You sure put a nice curve on that Peanut, John. Looks way better than when it came from the factory. Regarding people using knives for prying: sometimes I do wonder what people are thinking. And who the heck would use something as small as a Peanut for a prybar?
