Used my Cutco 1886 to pack up an old Matchbox Pontiac Grand Prix in parts condition I traded (as the guy needed a door, and while they weren't being held on by anything, both were present on the car) for a playworn, but decent Matchbox #50 John Deere Lanz Tractor. Have had the matching dump cart for several years, and it's been hooked up to an ERTL model ever since I got it from a member here.

I'm apprehensive about using boxes too small to fit a tracking label on without folding bits over, but the item that was in this got to me safely with part of the top and bottom folded onto the sides, so I'm guessing it won't be any different. Especially since shipping costs have exploded, and I'm trying to keep size and weight down without using a bubble mailer.

I cut a reused bubble mailer to make a pouch for the car and as inner packing to make sure it didn't move. I also cut the tape.

I had to fix a feed box. Didn't feel like wasting energy going back to the house to get tools and materials, so I used the stuff on me, a carpenter's hatchet that originally belonged-to my great-Granddad, and some screws I took from a half-finished birdhouse repair, and some nails I found in an ammo can in the barn.

For the screwdriving, I used a Gerber Center-Drive and a special socket attached to my trusty Craftsman USA 1/4" ratchet that allows me to use standard screwdriver bits.

For hammering and some woodcutting, I used the P&C Tool hatchet.

Cutting was done with the Center Drive's straight and serrated blades and a Cutco 1886.

Light and marking was done with an Olight I1R 2 PRO/iXV and a small keyring Sharpie. These are like a buck at Lowe's, and I buy a fistful every time I find them there.

PS: I thought it was a True Temper for years. P&C Tool Co. was based in Oregon--founded in 1915 in Idaho, moved to Oregon in 1923. Bought by Plomb (Proto) in 1941, closed in 1990. Hatchet is from the '60s. My great-Granddad used it to split firewood, I use it for basically everything. Lighter than my Estwing, tougher and heavier-duty than my Fiskars.

I used this Camillus 4-line Tip Top Barlow that I restored (viewtopic.php?f=37&t=73436) to slice the Fried chicken, the tomatoes, mushrooms, and the strawberries for tonight's salad.

I have carried this knife most every day since I put blades in it, and I use it to cut my food most every night for supper. My wife still complains about that, but I keep the Main blade clean and oiled with food-grade mineral oil, and I only use it for my food. Other odd cutting jobs fall to the pen blade.
And as a side note, a salad might seem uninspiring for supper, but by eating a little bit healthier I have managed to lose almost 80 pounds in the last year-and-a-half. My knees are thanking me!

I must admit to being quite skeptical about hobo knives when I first became aware of them. Now that I've tried one, I can say they make for a great traveling mess kit.

Been doing all kinds of outside work this past week, so I’ve used my EDC for a variety of stuff - opening packages/boxes, cutting string and rope, helping to get a knot out of rope, cutting open bags of mulch, trimming a piece of wood, cutting zip ties, opening that hard plastic that some things come sealed in, and probably a lot more I can’t think of right now.
