When you accumulate Mini-Ts it is, after all, all about the handle colors with a sprinkling of shield variations mixed in.
Handle color, handle material, blade number & types, shields and other decorative features even tang stamps...when collecting a single pattern, it's all about a variety of details.
I really like the Gray Bone and, of course, I dig the diamond shield, jerryd.
Speaking of handle color, though...for my next Mini-T from the Tradewinds series Case really went out on a creative limb and decided to call it.........wait for it............
Green!

Seriously? I mean, it's true, it is green, but after "Adobe Yellow" and "Pueblo Sky," Case couldn't come up with a more interesting name than "Green"? (Personally, I'm re-christening it "Prairie Grass"

)
Check out the color variation between these two otherwise identical "Prairie Grass" jigged bone 07s

You are of course, right on the money. I don't know why I said that. I think my brain's getting soft.

Well, you have nothing to fear since fortunately you are also a hard-headed, thick-skulled ol' curmudgeon (not to mention the leather neck), so at least your potentially progressively softening brain is well-protected
Seriously though, I have felt an increasing frequency & degree of brain softening awareness recently myself...fallout from "pandemic fatigue," not signs of permanent irreversible mental decline, I hope. It's hard enough dealing with all the physical decline that naturally comes with aging bodies without having to worry about loss of mental acuity as well. Knife collecting crtainly doesn't make me a saner person, but it does make getting older somewhat more tolerable InMyPersonalExperience.

Hang in there partner. Enjoy it while you have it. It just gets worse.
Today's offering is this slim and slender Pacific Rim Crowing Rooster. It must be made in the Rough Rider factory because it's quite well put together. I can't find anything to criticize.

Nice blue...the Monkey likes blue; and, Monkey See, Monkey Do...so today I'll go with blue, too.
This is "Sky Blue"

Ain't that the truth.
It's time for another wharnie. For me, the simplicity of it is it's greatest attraction.

Jerry that's a really nice piece you have there! One of my favorite. I like the wharncliffe blade.

Simplicity is good; I, too, like minimalism. But every now and then it's fun to spice things up with a little glitz & glitter and go full razzle-dazzle in the bright lights of the big city on a Friday night. In a pinch you could hang this one from the ceiling and,
Voilá!, instant disco mirror ball.

jerryd is correct, this is not a contest. Sheer numbers/Mini-T tonnage, aside, jerryd also has a legendary ability to pick winners. You may have noticed how often OCD Monkey will suddenly show up with a new Mini-T shortly after jerryd has shown the exact same model a week or two before. It's called "Monkey See, Monkey Do" (or, more accurately, "Monkey See, Monkey Buy"). Because of jerryd's highly respected refined taste and a keenly discriminating eye*, he makes a remarkably reliable "influencer". (Oh, he's also an unconscionable enabler, as well, I might add--but only in a good way!)
* - the jury's still out on jerryd's totally unexpected, outta-left field "Pink Lady" decision ("the price was simply irresistible")...but, I wouldn't be too surprised if she made an appearance here sometime soon.

Of all the "Tequila Sunrises" I have experienced, that's the only one that wasn't accompanied with bloodshot eyes, nausea and a pounding headache.
Of course, before the sun can rise in the morning (and cause you to regret all those tequila shots the night before), it must set in the evening--the fateful hour when having that second (third and fourth) Margarita still seemed like a good idea.
Sunset Orange Bone Mini Trapper...yeah, I'll drink to that!

My only 2020 so far, I'm really quite fond of this one. It's the lined bolsters and handle color that does it for me.

Already nearly halfway through 2020 and I still don't have any Mini-Ts with the new date stamp. I do have a pile of pkgs waiting to be picked up at the PO, though, and even the risk of infection and certain death can't keep the Monkey from retrieving them eventually. In the meantime, I'm sticking with the diamond shield theme. This one is Smooth Indigo Bone...dark and cloudy; a perfect reflection of the Monkey's mood as he broods over delayed gratification of unattainable treasures.

Excellent
per diem selection...Beautiful bone on that one you got, jerryd.
Monday is Monkey Day and today the Monkey is pulling his favorite little stunt and playing another round of "Monkey See, Monkey Do"
Today's episode features the same model as one previously shown by jerryd (which was a most generous bomb from Floyd), so I'm sure it will be immediately recognized and fondly remembered by one and all. The true significance of the enigmatic "FB" suffix in the pattern stamp remains a mystery: does it stand for "Foster Brook" or "floor board"? (or perhaps both simultaneously?)
Still wondering what kind of wood this is. I'm certainly no expert on different types of wood, but it looks a lot like Walnut to me. Is Walnut typically used for floor boards?...or was it a popular flooring material back when the Foster Brook facility was built?

I'm not sure if this is a case of "Great Minds Think Alike" or pure coincidence, but John's
per diem Mini-T just happens to be the same Carhartt model that I had planned to show today as well. I suppose technically this constitutes another round of MSMD, although I have a sneaking suspicion that John may be harboring a secret Mini-T Monkey that is clairvoyant (I've heard tales of the mystical powers of the elusive Mini-T Monkeys that haunt scenic North Country hiking trails!)
This Olive Green Sawcut Bone Carhartt 6207W was recently modified by Lansky1 into one of his signature Trapp2Cliffes. (Exactly why anyone would need two Wharncliffe blades on one knife is a question that can only be answered by OCD Monkey.)

Q - glad you like your smooth bone Mini-T. With all the recent rage over the new GEC Pocket Carver (#62 I think), this stubby version of the mini-wharnie mod kind of reminds me of the GEC mini-Carver profile
Was fun for me to actually leave the grinder marks on the top edge so it somewhat matches the "as-ground" factory blade grind (rather than going through the grits and polishing the top edge - wouldn't have looked right on this knife) ... made me work outside of my usual "box", so it was def a fun project (following is a pic I snapped before I sent it back on the long road home) --->

three
