A couple of days ago, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the most recent example to be added to my general, CAMILLUS, pocket knife accumulation. It is a CAMILLUS, three blades (one has a file), three tang stamps, 3 1/8" closed, a long main blade pull, tipped bolsters, "split spring", whittler, pattern or style of pocket knife. It also has a long, thin, rectangular shaped shield. YES, I DO KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT A TRUE SPLIT SPRING pocket knife! The main blade front tang stamp says, "CAMILLUS (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) CAMILLUS, N.Y." The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "CAMILLUS (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) CAMILLUS, N.Y." The third blade/file back tang stamp says, "CAMILLUS (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) CAMILLUS, N.Y." This pocket knife does NOT, and did NOT, have a pattern number anywhere on it. The main blade does have a SOFT half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a SOFT half stop. The secondary blade does have an OK opening snap. The secondary blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The third blade/file does have a SOFT half stop. The third blade/file does have a GOOD opening snap. The third blade/file does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Very nice knife Skip, I like the last two you’ve posted, but the bar shield on the previous really looks great. I need to find me one with a file blade, that’s a whittler style I’ve never had.

I was happy to see this thread for the first time today. Whittlers are probably my favorite knife pattern. My EDC is often a whittler although lately I’ve been carrying a buffalo horn stockman my brother got me which might actually be my favorite knife.
I’ve lost two whittlers over the years. The first was a black G-10 and the other was orange and looked great. Nowadays I’ve got a bonestag Seahorse Whittler that’s often in my pocket.
Now I realize that the title of this thread says “vintage” so those don’t really match the topic. Coincidentally however, I did come across a vintage model just a day or two ago. I was going through my knifes, wiping them off and putting a drop of #9 on the pivots when I found a vintage whittler I didn’t realize I had. Take a look of yourself.

Wow! That's a great knife. BGuy! You don't see many of those in the wild, and the condition is fantastic..
