According to Northwoods late chief Dave Shirley "This is our best Scagel to date...1095 steel, Sambar stag handles, steel liners. Those Scagel repros are beautiful! I always wanted one but when I found one I couldn't afford it and when I could afford it they were nowhere to be found!
Here is a similar one made by Taylor Seto back when they were still being made in Japan.The other knife is also a Taylor design of the same era.

Those are very interesting and beautiful knives. Great pieces to have in your collection. That tanto blade that turns into a push dagger really fascinates me...never seen anything quite like that before. Any idea of it's age? (If you ever feel like swapping it, please let me know, I'd be interested and I have a few knives I'd be willing to trade you for it.)

Here's a fixed blade Canal Street that recently found its way to my house. It has Oxblood Burl handles and the 175th Woolrich Shield.

I like that. Nice size drop point. I haven't given CSC much of a look, maybe I should rethink that.

This is not only scarce because it is second cut stag, but red stag , and a transition to boot. I love it!!

I was surprised to see the Marble's No. 57 go for over $3,000 on eBay. Pretty close to Dunathan's book price from 2004.

Just a little Loveless designed City knife in S35VN and Mammoth molar.

I acquired this Gil Hibben Bowie Knife. With a blade length of 14", way too big to carry on my belt! So I hung it on my wall! in my computer room.

I have a couple or three Hibben's, Mitch. They're really pretty nice knives. That one's more of a short sword than a knife.

Yeah JD! Most of Hibben's knife designs are not very practical from a user's standpoint but Man! They sure are Wicked Cool pieces of Steel

I think the Pro Guide Hunter would be very usable if you knocked all the sharp edges off the handle.

Kind of forgot about some of my fixed blades but here are a few.
This "negrito kris" I got as a pair. The other one is a straight blade.
I can't find it at the moment. My son might have "borrowed" it.
Bought them at local gun/gear store in the 70"s. I remember the price tag was confusing:

I asked the owner How much are these two machetes? and he said two for $50 but I'll knock off $10. O.K.!! Done!
