Right back at ya J1890, what about you with the 26s? Every time I see you post it's another pair of gorgeous pieces. Where to you keep coming up with them? You've found some fab 26s. That one in stag is fabulous, great pattern and duds. And the 72 is fine too, great looking wood grain, fine patina, sweeeeeeeeet.. Wow, keep those babies coming and thanks for the compliment too. Appreciate it and always like looking when you post.

Tell me about it soul brother, most of my life is wrong place, wrong time, wrong room, missed the boat. You're killing me, I tried to get one, failed, won't pay the secondary prices at the moment. That is beautiful, I like it even better than my Seahorse Whittlers, don't know why, the proportions are just a bit better or something. Great lines, great bone, cool shild, what's not to like about those? Beauuuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeeeeefuuuuuuuuul. Congrats, you scored big time and what a knife. Mmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Post it again, other side maybe, love seeing those, love a Wharn whittler and the bone color is fabulous.

Thanks, wow that's different color and jigging than I've ever seen before. Looooooooooooove it. Great looking bone. Like how all the jigging goes clear to the bolster, no big wide grind off clear out to the pins. Loooooove rat tail flutes too. Sweet one, thanks for showing the other side. Congrats, you scored.

Had the #66 calf roper Stockman with me lately. Forget how much I like it. Great blades, fit and finish, color and jigging, and size. Love the options. Goes with any spear I have.

I am new to GEC, and am highly impressed with my #86 in sucker rod wood. I purchased it as a novelty, just for the scales. I collect and restore antique machinery as a hobby, and the recycled oil field gear just fit perfectly! Well, the novelty quickly wore off. It’s such a fine tool that it quickly replaced my Case large stockman as my favorite carry knife. So there is definitely patina and battle scars in its future.
I was so pleased with the 86 that I recently added the beaver tail to my kit. Since I was eighteen years old I have carried a Buck 110 as a secondary heavy duty knife for larger jobs. The jury is still out on the beaver tail. While the fit and finish is excellent, it is slimmer and lighter than a 110, and doesn’t give me the heft and bulk in my hand that I have become accustomed to over the years. Also, the tab for the liner lock digs into my index finger when I grip it firmly. I guess we’ll see if I learn to love it, or put it back in the tube and leave it to hibernate.
I’ve always favored the versatility of stockman patterns. If I can lay hands on a GEG stockman model without breaking the bank, that will most likely round out my GEC fleet.

Great looking pair, love the beaver shield too. I wish you the best, I said that once about just a couple or a few GECs. What a joke. I'm up to 30-40 and the hunt is nowhere close to over yet. They just keep coming out with so many cool new ones I can't look away. And they have made my favorite SFOs for so many years I'll never run out of new ones to look for. Congrats and good luck. Those are two beauties and I know you'll love them more as you use them. The G in GEC is definitely for GREAT.

This day in 1859 is considered the start of the American Oil Industry by the Drake Oil Well on Oil Creek close to Titusville Pennsylvania. In remembrance of that I've carried two GEC Tidioute's. A Oil Field Jack and a Ram Foot both covered in Oily Creek Bone.
