Thank you Lee,Joe, Charlie Dan, Mike. Pretty happy to get this one, here are a couple shots comparing it to an Electric Cut Co and a Great Eastern 77 which is a fairly large jack, gives an idea of how big this Walden jack is.

Dang that thing is thick! Must fill the hand nicely. I am really smitten with that knife, I have perused your pics multiple times now, outstanding old knife.

Ditto what Mike said, fantastic old knife!

A.F Bannister jack,1867-1915.Etched hand forged in a snake rapped around a hammer.

Thanks for the Electric Cut pics, that is fabulous. Love the variable color, the jigging, the EZ arc, the long pull spear with a great swedge, the badge shield, the handle shape. I could go on.

That Bannister is very cool too.

I love this thread! Lots of eye candy for sure Here are some I would like to share.

First pic : on the left is from National Cutlery Works. Goin's lists the date as 1910-1930. On the right is a Fine Edge, Goin's listed 1921-1923. Second pic on the left shows a nice little swell center half whittler made by the Wilbert Cutlery Co Chicago. Goin's dates it to 1908-1921 as a brand sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. The one on the right is a Barlow from Brantford Cutlery Co. USA. Goin's lists this from 1910-1930.

That is an old pattern I tried to research a few years back. I didn't know there was any stamped Electric. I have that pattern with the fat main blade and oversized bolsters in a Keen Kutter, Simmons, Mayer Grosh, and NYK plus one more that excapes me right now. They have to one of the most serious big old working jacks made. When I found that more than one company made them I tried to figure out if it was an old English pattern or one that was developed in the early days of the US cutlery history or perhaps one company made them for several others. I hit dead ends on my research. I have 5 or 6 of them and absolutely love them. Yours is a really nice example of that pattern ____Dave

Beautiful knives for sure shown here!! He is one I just picked up, I've been looking for one of them for years. Too bad it's in such rough condition but I still am glad I got it. Love the bolsters. I've had the box for awhile now. Gardner jack

What a great old pocket knife that is. Hard to find brand.

Goins says they made 100 dozen pocket knives daily with 70 employees.
There don't seem too be many around.
