#4 shotshell did a decent pattern at 10-12 feet.
Followed by four Hornady 125gr hp
Speaking of high prices... royal, how long did you have to wait before the home equity loan came through to buy that ammo you went shooting with? I hope the interest rate wasn't too high... maybe what about 9%? ...

Tell me about it TDOG.
I stocked up years ago before the prices were high. Every hardware store visit for a part included at least a few boxes.
Have way more than I need but at brick and mortar, 556 in bulk is hard to find. Had plenty already but rather have and not need, than need and not have.
After the 22 shortage years back, I bought a 5000 round brick of .22 for 500 bucks. Shoot .22 all the time and that brick is still intact/ unopened.
Prices suck, but having no ammo, sucks more.
Bought this at Cabelas a couple weeks ago, when looking for a dog collar only...

Seems like appropriate place to post the new hats...
They had one I loved that I would have bought but were out except funky colors.
There were others I could not wear to work even though patriotic, even gun/ optics/ ammo company logo's hats are cool. I support the Sheriffs Department comms and body/ vehicle gadgets to do their job. Also, the 911 Dispatchers and their consoles. They love that stuff as do I.
God bless our past, present and future Military and First Responders.
Forever grateful.
Jerry

Snagged a birth year gun on GunBroker for $119
An 8-shot IverJohnson Cadet model 55 S with 2.5” barrel, made in 1955, chambered in .22lr
Will arrive at my front door in a few days (gotta love the C&R license and ability to have guns 50 yrs or older shipped directly to my house)

Bought this at Cabelas a couple weeks ago, when looking for a dog collar only...
I thought prices would come back down after Covid/BLM riots etc...etc...

...

....

....

...boy was I wrong!

The local indoor range now charges $20 to shoot a session and 9mm is about $30 per 100 rds. or a little more...

So. the range is 20 miles from my house and gas is $4.75-$4.60 a gallon right now. Buy a target or two...

So. now it is a cost of $60 to go shoot 100 rds.

200 rds. $90

250 rds. $105

...

When ever I went to the range before I always shot a minimum of 300 rds...

Well thos days are over... 300 rds. shot is about $120 in cost to me...

....

Do my numbers seem off to you?

Agreed Jim!
Bottom line, no need to ban guns, if there is no ammo to buy if you don't have any.
Saw this long ago. This is where it will go eventually. Expensive or not, well stocked years ago but will buy if I see fit. Not a rich man either.
.22 is a lethal cartridge but it ain't reloadable. Even reloading supplies are being pinched.

Cool video. It amazes me what some people are able to do. I would have thought that gun was beyond saving.

The restorer should have soaked the pistol in Kroil for a couple days and would not have needed to use a hammer on it.

That's no lie! We had an old homemade drill press that was rusted up tighter than a bull's @$$ and Kroil freed it right up, no hammering necessary.

I stocked up too, Jerry, right before prices for ammo went through the roof because supply wasn't keeping up with demand.
Ammo was the first indicator of how the Joebama economy was headed, everything else ended up having supply issues resulting in shortages and excessive inflation. The only way to curb it, ratchet up interest rates. And here we are.
